Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, August 31, 2026

US Secretary of War Crimes Pete Kegsbreath's pastor, faux Christian Doug Wilson, confessed that he would have fought for the Confederates during the US Civil War, then fails at rationalizing his untenable racist position during an exchange with pod-caster Mehdi Hasan. See comments section below for Doug Wilson's blither-blather.

US Secretary of War Crimes Pete Kegsbreath and white supremacist Doug Wilson pretending to be pious Christians:

The exchange:

MEHDI HASAN: "You said recently to a local news channel that you would've fought for the South in the Civil War, for the Confederacy, which lest we forget had 3.5 million people enslaved, had a constitution that required the protection of slavery. It was a place where torture of slaves was legal. And you, Doug Wilson, in 2026 are saying you would've fought for that South. What kind of moral man are you if you were willing to fight for a side that enslaves and tortures people?"

CHRISTIAN PASTOR DOUG WILSON: "Yeah, part of the point of our booklet was, yeah, it was, they were not Nazis. It was a fallible, messed up institution. We don't defend the institution of slavery. I'm glad that slavery is gone. I wouldn't have gone to war to fight for slavery. If, had I been in that moment, I would have fought to defend Maryland, which is where I grew up. Maryland or Virginia or something like that."

MEHDI HASAN: "But they were fighting for slavery. I mean, they made that very clear, the Confederate leaders. So you would have been fighting for slavery, which is a bizarre thing to own up to in 2026."

WHITE SUPREMACIST DOUG WILSON: "It would be really bad had I owned up to it."

MEHDI HASAN: "I mean, you just said I would have gone to fight for the Confederacy. And I'm telling you, the Confederacy was fighting for slavery. So by definition, you were fighting for slavery, which is insane."

PHONY CHRISTIAN DOUG WILSON: "And I deny your minor premise."

Amerikkka is simply ruined.

The South was the literal inspiration for the Nazis:

And Der Fuhrer had a portrait of auto magnate Henry Ford in his office.

In the early 1920s, the first Dummkopf Trumpf -- the crapulent corporal from Osterreich -- lamented that he was unable to send "shock troops" to help Henry Ford deal with labor unrest or win political elections.
