DHS police handcuffed one of Rep. Jerry Nadler aides in the congressmember's Manhattan office, which is in the same federal office building as an immigration courthouse. DHS officers entered Nadler's district office and accused staff members of "harboring rioters." A Nadler staffer is seen crying and being handcuffed. Another officer is at a door trying to enter a private area of the office while a staffer asks for a warrant. DHS later said in a statement that "one individual" " the woman seen being handcuffed " had blocked police from performing a security check they intended to do based on information there were protesters in the lawmaker's office. Later that day, protesters gathered outside of the federal building, demonstrating against ICE. "If this can happen in a Member of Congress's office, it can happen to anyone " and it is happening," said the veteran congressman. Video: YouTube Link read more

Key points include:

  • China is deepening selective cooperation with Russia, aiming to avoid actions that could harm its global standing.
  • Russia is sourcing military aid from Iran and North Korea, including artillery, UAVs, and personnel.
  • Moscow is transferring sensitive technologies (space, nuclear, missile) to bolster Tehran's and Pyongyang's capabilities.
  • Iran and North Korea leverage these ties to mitigate sanctions and international isolation.
  • Despite this, cooperation largely remains bilateral and transactional rather than a fully integrated alliance. The assessment also includes migration to the US as a threat and describes Russia, Iran, China, and North Korea as an "Axis of Upheaval." read more

Eleven people were stabbed in a church-run homeless shelter in Salem, Oregon, directly across from the local police HQ. At least one member of staff at the Union Gospel Mission in Salem is among the wounded following the shocking scenes at around 1900 HRS Sunday. The 11 wounded were rushed to a Salem hospital with "varying types of injuries. The suspect, who is in custody and pictured below, had arrived at the mission the previous night and was about to check into the 150-person ministry again for a second night when he started brawling just as he was supposed to hand his belongings over to staff. Good thing the suspect wasn't armed with a firearm or there would have been fatalities and more injuries, like other typical mass casualty attacks in the US that we are all accustomed to. read more

IDF Supremo Israel Katz said at a Jewish settlement in the West Bank: "They will recognize a Palestinian state on paper, and we will build the Jewish Israeli state on the ground here. The paper will disappear into the trash of history and Israel will flourish and flourish." With those statements, Katz had a clear message for French President Emmanuel Macron "and his friends" who had called the recognition of the Palestinian state "not only a moral duty, but a political necessity." Macron also urged a tougher line from European countries against Israel if it does not respond to the disastrous humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. Emmanuel Macron continues 'talking the talk, but not walking the walk' by simply recognizing Palestine. This past March, the American taxpayer expedited $4bn of military aid to Israel. read more

From the FDA: "Bedner Growers, Inc. of Boynton Beach, FL is voluntarily recalling cucumbers sold at Bedner's Farm Fresh Market between 29 Apr and 14 May 2025 because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis."

  • The cucumbers are being recalled because they have been linked by the FDA to a Salmonella outbreak that has resulted in 26 illnesses in AL, CA, CO, FL, IL, KS, KY, MI, NC, NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, and VA. read more
