A judge on Thursday said she would issue an order blocking the Trump administration's efforts to prevent Harvard from enrolling international students. The ruling was a win, at least temporarily, for the university in its ongoing confrontation with the White House. nyti.ms/3Huo3FC

More from the article ...

... During his commencement address, Garber welcomed family, friends and supporters of the graduating class.

"And welcome, members of the Class of 2025. Members of the Class of 2025 from down the street, across the country, and around the world. Around the world, just as it should be," Garber continued according to a copy of the remarks from his office.

The line was met with loud cheers and a standing ovation. Videos of the moment have also circulated online, sparking praise and backlash.

Later in his address, according to the copy from his office, Garber noted that the graduates are "the hope of this institution embodied -- living proof that our mission changes not only the lives of individuals but also the trajectories of communities that you will join, serve, and lead. May you carry the best of what Harvard is and does into the world that awaits you. May you chart a path for others to follow as you choose your own. And may your many destinations bring you joy, satisfaction, and peace." ...

It's great if they want international students, but please not with US tax money. What with all the truepoors on bennies and the silverspoons also wanting gibs, the working class is being abused terribly.

Here's an idea.

Give that "Harvard" money to the decendents of black slaves to go to Harvard if they otherwise qualify.

That's generational reparations.

You people wouldn't go to Harvard if it was free.

It's because you're proud of how stupid you are.

#3 | Posted by cabron_loco. The abuse of the working class started with Ronald Reagan, a president I once thought (in my ignorance) was God. His union busting, tax cuts, and SCOTUS packing started the avalanche of ----- that landed us where we are today. That working class got stagnated wages as a result of Ronnie's actions that only got far worse as a result of the 2008 financial debacle. (Thank you William Jefferson Clinton for deregulating Wall Street.) They had crap income and now had lost what little retirement they had. And here we are: "Only I can fix it..."

Trumpturd has no idea about education and absolutely ridiculous that he thinks he should dictate policy for any University. Banning foreign students is insane.

But.... let me ask, specifically in Harvard's case. Why does an institution with a $50 billion endowment receive federal funding?

Corporate shill Bill Maher takes Dotard Trumpf's side in the Harvard University funding controversy, which should come as no surprise. Bill Maher (and Joe Rogaine) are both defenders of the status quo who have made fortunes for themselves peddling distractions and deflections from America's real problems. Both of them are economic Judas Goats whose interests are aligned with the oligarchs, not with the common man. In fact, both of them enjoy tremendous oligarchic wealth, so why would they want to disrupt that?

Because they have and do some of the most important research that benefits America and the world in a plethora of disciplines

Research that simply will not be done otherwise well at least not in America

Research that enables American industry to be at the forefront of technology and medicine

That research (and the research at other universities) is the foundation of our economy

Why does an institution with a $50 billion endowment receive federal funding?

#10 | POSTED BY CRISISSTILLS1

Maybe if you had ever been to an institution of higher learning you would not even need to ask that question.

Harvard has premier research facilities and top notch researchers available to do the work.

If you had ever gone to a university you would know that the top notch universities have top notch facilities. I have been to Stanford. It's a beautiful campus with amazing facilities people and resources.

Stanford University has a particle accelerator attached to its faculties (SLAC). So naturally you would give Grant monies to study something involving nuclear physics to a university like Stanford that has the equipment and talent to be successful.

Because it already has top notch facilities and resources. And large endowments help maintain these facilities.

Likewise Harvard also has top notch facilities and programs. Because it also has a $50 billion endowment to support and attract and maintain the best talent.

Again. If you had ever gone to a top notch university for any reason you would already know this. Because it's common sense.

Laura,

What does this have to do with Trump?

Systemic anti-Semitism has been festering at liberal universities for many, many years.

Now they've just rebranded it as "pro-Palestinian" activism to justify open Jew-hatred.

Are you ok with anti-Semitism?

Is there anything Trump can do you would ever agree with? Anything at all??

Laura,

Back to the international students thing, I don't agree with Trump doing this. Sort of punishing the wrong people.

But I do see why he's doing it. He's taking an action to make a point about the continual support of anti-Semitism that has existed at Harvard and other colleges for a very long time.

Not exactly fair but Trump didn't ask my opinion.

The President of Harvard University, Dr. Alan Michael Garber, is an Ashkenazi Jew.

There are rumors that Harvard University (and other Ivy Leagues) rejected Barren Trumpf, and hence his enrollment in NYU.

His Ivy Envy runs deep, e.g. often putting his undergrad Wharton classes in "the Ivy League."
Yeah, sure, Donnie, whatever you say.

Would you reiterate your statement exactly what views held by who?

Laura,

Are you saying you believe it's ok for the college to defend the right to be antisemitic, but you're not antisemitic yourself?

That's how I interpreted it.

Really you're correct that people are free to like or dislike who they please.

The problem is protesters take their hatred for Jews to the street and colleges are permitting it by keeping quiet about it.

Laura,

"Welcome to the first amendment. I'm glad you're making your greetings for the first time."

It's hardly the first time for me.

I've been saying for years people have the right to dislike gays and that gays shouldn't hinge their self-worth on whether they're liked or accepted by everyone. And its not the government's job to make people like them. Discrimination is a totally different topic.

There is a real difference between opinion and action such as what is happening at some colleges targeting Jews.

Liberals have been trying the last several years to social engineer society (especially kids) to their ideology.

Ever since COVID, when parents got the chance to first hand see what kids are being taught in public school, the attempt to social engineer children has become a flashpoint for parents being told they don't have the right to have any say what is being taught.

Seems to me its more like you making a greeting for the first time.
