A major Haaretz investigation confirms Israeli soldiers in Gaza were ordered to shoot at unarmed Palestinians gathering near food distribution sites " even when they posed no threat. Soldiers described the areas as a "killing field," noting: "There's no enemy, no weapons. IDF officers say the killings aren't isolated mistakes but part of a pattern dubbed "Operation Salted Fish" " the Israeli version of 'Red Light, Green Light.' "We shoot, they run, we shoot again," one soldier said. "This is our communication." At least 549 Palestinians have been killed and over 4,000 wounded near these aid centers since 27 May. Many were waiting for UN food trucks. US Capitol Police, the same agency that defended Our Nation on 6 Jan 2021 from white supremacist insurrectionists, detained a group of unarmed, peaceful samaritans, zip-tying several people in wheelchairs who were protesting proposed cuts to Medicaid spending. People shouted slogans, among them "No cuts to Medicaid." During the event, vulnerable people held banners reading "Senate Republicans Don't Kill Us, Save Medicaid," and "60 Million Off Medicaid." Capitol Police confiscated at least two of the banners, one of which was briefly unfurled in a staircase in the building. Many of the people were in black shirts with slogans, including one that read "HEALTHCARE CUTS WILL KILL." The shirts also bore the logo of grassroots group Popular Democracy in Action. 34 people were arrested in the "People's House" simply for voicing their pleas to save Medicaid. read more

Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin was literally taken aback by SECDEF Pete Hegseth telling her she has been "the worst!" when it comes to reporting on Iran nuclear facilities following Saturday's bombing directed by President Donald Trump. Hegseth blasted the assembled press for how they have reported on leaked intel reports and a lack of praise for Trump and his actions, which have received mainly bipartisan praise. "Before I pass to the chairman, because you and I mean specifically you, the press corps, because you cheer against Trump so hard, like in your DNA and in your blood, to cheer against Trump. You want him not to be successful so bad, you have to cheer against the efficacy of the strikes," Hegseth bloviated to the reporters. "But Jennifer, you've been about the worst, the one who misrepresents the most intentionally what the president says." Jennifer Griffin was visibly taken aback by the sudden and nasty rebuke as you can see in the linked video. read more

As promised on his campaign trail, Canada PM Carney is quickly 'Trump-proofing' Canada. Before the recent NATO Summit in the Netherlands and Canada Day (1 July), PM Carney joined the EU Rearm Europe program, which excludes the US. Canadian funds and resources will now be diverted away from US defense contracts. Canada, as part of its NATO obligations, is also increasing its defense spending. In addition, PM Carney fast-tracked the nations-building projects bill' through Parliament and the Senate, designed to reduce dependence on the US economy. The timing also upholds PM Mark Carney's promise to have all federal internal trade barriers removed by Canada Day. PM Carney also had established a Ministry for AI and Digital Innovation to streamline government programs and cut costs. Link: Globalnews.ca. read more
