President Donald Trump visited the new migrant detention center in the Florida Everglades dubbed "Alligator Alcatraz" and "Gator Gitmo." Video revealed rows upon rows of empty industrial metal bunk beds enclosed in hastily constructed cages made up of chain fences. "[President] Biden wanted me in here, that son of a b"h," Trump said jokingly. "I looked outside, and that's not a place I want to go hiking anytime soon," Trump told reporters after his tour. "We're surrounded by miles of treacherous swampland, and the only way out is really deportation." The complex, located at the Dade Collier Training and Transition Airport, will cost an estimated $450 million a year to operate, and the first victims are set to arrive this week. President Trump threatened NYC Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani with arrest, should he be elected and follow through with a campaign promise to "stop masked ICE agents from deporting our neighbors." Trump said the DOJ would react swiftly to any such obstruction to ICE's operations. "Well then, we'll have to arrest him. Look, we don't need a communist in this country, but if we have one, I'm going to be watching over him very carefully on behalf of the nation," Trump warned. The comments are Trump's latest attack on Mamdani, who he called a "total nut job." "A lot of people are saying he's here illegally," Trump smearing him without evidence. Trump threatened to withhold federal funding from New York if, should Mamdani be elected mayor, he didn't "behave himself." "If he does get in, I'm going to be president, and he's going to have to do the right thing, or they're not getting any money. He's got to do the right thing or they're not getting any money." read more

In the vast agricultural lands north of Los Angeles, stretching from Ventura County into the state's central valley, two farmers, two field supervisors and four immigrant farmworkers said that the ICE raids have led a majority of workers to stop showing up for work. That means crops are not being picked and fruit and vegetables are rotting at peak harvest time. One Mexican farm supervisor, who asked not to be named, was overseeing a field being prepared for planting strawberries. Usually he would have 300 workers, but on this day he had just 80. Another supervisor at a different farm said he usually has 80 workers in a field, but on that day just 17. Link: YouTube.com . read more
