I did have a friend who worked at SS for a while.

It was my understanding that at the time he was there the servers were old Unix based servers in dire need of upgrades. Which was how he got a job at the weather service who were at that time transitioning from Unix based servers to Linux based servers. (Because they naively thought Linux was free.)

The SSA site is getting hammered. It was down yesterday, too. Trump-Musk are trying to destroy SSA.

And if they cannot destroy it then they will just make it unusable and inaccessible.

If you already have SS you will still get checks (maybe).

But if you need to apply for it or there is any issue you will just be bumped from the system with no way to contact anyone to resolve the issue. And if social security makes a mistake and claws back money directly from your account (which they do often) it could now take years to resolve it and get your money back.
