How about "Trump Threatens to Ignore Constitution, Pursue Illegal Third Term"? That headline might be more accurate.

"A lot of people want me to do it," Trump said in a Sunday-morning phone call with NBC News, referring to his allies. "But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it's very early in the administration."

When asked whether he wanted another term, the president responded, "I like working."

"I'm not joking," Trump said, when asked to clarify. "But I'm not " it is far too early to think about it."

When asked whether he has been presented with plans to allow him to seek a third term, Trump said, "There are methods which you could do it."

NBC News asked about a possible scenario in which Vice President JD Vance would run for office and then pass the role to Trump. Trump responded that "that's one" method.

"But there are others too," Trump added.

Asked to share another method, Trump simply responded "no."."

Meanwhile, Trump ally Steve Bannon said in an interview on News Nation that he believes Trump will "run and win again in 2028."

Bannon said in the same interview that he thought "we'll have a couple of alternatives" in determining how Trump could seek a third term despite the two-term maximum for holding the presidency.

The White House has amplified Trump's comments likening himself to royalty, posting a picture of a fake magazine cover depicting the president with a crown after the administration shot down congestion pricing in New York City.

The White House's post to X quoted Trump's previous comments on Truth Social: "LONG LIVE THE KING!"

Oh, they were careful there: the language of at least one of the proposed amendments would forbid anyone with two consecutive terms, oh, say, Obama, from serving again.

As it stands the 22nd Amendment forbids someone to be elected beyond the second term to the office of POTUS.

No way a new amendment changing that gets voted through.

Constitutional Expert Warns How Trump Really Could Get Third Term
In an X post Monday, the Harvard Law professor wrote: "Anyone discounting a 3d Trump term per the 22d am + the 12th am is thinking magically: The 22d dsn't bar *serving* a 3d term, only being *elected* 3 times."

Tribe, who has been publicly critical of Trump over the years, is a trusted advisor to the Democratic Party. He represented former Vice President Al Gore in the landmark decision Bush v. Gore regarding a dispute over recounting votes in the 2000 election, and served in the Justice Department during former President Barack Obama's first term, the latter of which used to work for Tribe at Harvard Law.

I'm sure we can count on Trump's SCOTUS to put an end to this nonsense ...

Only hope would be for Obama to do the same thing, although I could see Dem voters refusing to violate a Constitutional bar out of principle, while the GOP would not, handing the White House to Trump again, because Dems are idiots and get their panties into a wad at the slightest bump in the road.

WASHINGTON: The arteries of Donald J. Trump are "extremely unlikely" to serve a third term in the White House, the blood vessels said on Tuesday.

In a social media post, the vascular tubes pushed back against Trump's recent musings about remaining in office beyond his second term.

"Leaving aside the constitutional issues, there are serious anatomical issues," the arteries said. "The pressure on us has been unbearable."

At the White House, Trump slammed his arteries' comments, telling reporters, "My circulatory system has treated me very unfairly."

What a sad state of affairs that, as a Republican, you'd have to "bend the rules" (putting it lightly) to re-elect an 84 year old bafoon as the face of your party....again. And one that led an insurrection inbetween his terms.

Can't you find something better after eight years?

SAD. And Embarassing.

I would highly doubt Obama would be interested, to be honest. And as a big fan of his, I'm looking for someone "new". Rehashing an older version just doesn't seem......right. And it's not - the Constitution says so. It's shouldn't be and isn't on the Dem's radar.

That's why Trump running again is just so sad. He's not even a great American. Dude is borderline racist.

Obama? Trump?! This nation deserves dissolution, imo.

How many more liars as POTUS are required? It appears to be unending.

You want universal healthcare, but you don't want to end the capitalist scum that prevent it?

This is nothing but Trumpy mouthing off and spewing more of his hateful maga BS. The Dotard never stops with his demented ramblings.

There is no legal method for Trumpy to get a third term.

Fortunately for America the Constitution rules it out.
