Seinfeld helped get Trump elected.
Being someone who was only 7 when the series ended, I've tried watching it many times but each time I just see a program of 4 conceited, two-dimensional New Yawkers living in an intellectually stunted echo chamber where boorish or horrible behavior is basically considered the norm and perfectly acceptable and sometimes even rewarded. That's Trump in a nutshell. Although I never experienced the show's phenomenon firsthand, it seems that Sienfeld normalized that type of behavior- at least for the behavior in those older than 30
I didn't have the opportunity like many here to watch the progression of television over the last 50+ years, but I have gone back and watched comedies from the 70s and 80s and even some from the 90s and I must admit that the ones in the late 70s and 80s were much, much better (and the female characters are far more attractive). The only ones from the 90s that I think are pretty good are News Radio and maybe 3rd Rock From the Sun.
FYI, SpongeBob was my fav show my whole childhood through college so have at me.
Trump defines his Christian faith by the number of 1970s Nunsploitation films he has watched and rewatched.
