That's why I was taken aback when Gov. Gavin Newsom's vaunted social media team disparaged an announcement from the new CEO of Bed Bath & Beyond that it would not open or operate any stores in California due to anxieties over our state's business climate. The governor's team responded to the feedback not with a reasoned argument, but with an extended attack in their new "Trumpian" voice of belittling those who disagree with them. Their message to the CEO (and the 6.1 million other people who viewed the post) was "take your business elsewhere." Given that California currently has more than 1 million unemployed residents, this was not the reaction I was expecting " or that was called for. read more
SACRAMENTO, Calif. " Gov. Gavin Newsom on Thursday announced he's deploying teams of California Highway Patrol officers to major cities across California to crack down on crime. The teams of CHP officers will head to San Diego, Inland Empire, Los Angeles, Central Valley, Sacramento, and the San Francisco Bay Area. The governor's office said the officers will work collaboratively with local law enforcement in those areas.
In recent months, some Muslim communities in Canada and the United States have protested against LGBTQ+ inclusion. Socially conservative Muslims have criticized what they see as growing LGBTQ+ "indoctrination" in schools and society more broadly. In Michigan, a Muslim majority city council banned Pride flags from being flown on city property. In Ottawa, young children at an anti-LGBTQ+ protest stomped on Pride flags. read more
Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News Digital Uliumdzhiev illegally crossed the southern border near San Ysidro, California on Dec. 4, 2022, and was released into the country under the Biden administration. "An ICE arrest detainer was placed on him to ensure he is not released back into American communities to terrorize more Americans," McLaughlin said. Ar you actually suggesting that in person voting is LESS secure than mail in voting?

It is important to remember, however, that not everything Republicans propose is voter
suppression and not everything Democrats propose makes fraud easier.
The final report, titled "Building Confidence in U.S. Elections," stressed the
important role of elections in the nation's democracy and made a series of
recommendations, including:
1. A national system to connect state and local voter registration lists
2. Voter identification based on a universally available REAL ID card
3. Policies to improve voter access for all communities, as well as innovations like vote
centers and voter information lookup sites
Stronger efforts to combat fraud, especially in absentee voting
4. Auditable paper backups for all voting technology
www.cartercenter.org
Doesn't the fact that people who aren't on the voter rolls can't vote already achieve that goal?
Fact?? Sure ...
More than 23,000 Californians were registered to vote incorrectly by state DMV

Republicans are suing more election officials over voter rolls in several battleground states
www.cnn.com
The question, I have would be why does the US need voter rolls? Why do you need to register?
If you had a VOTERID of some sort (national card or citizen card or whatever) why would you need to have this whole system, which can be undermined?
You show up to vote, your card is your pass, its registered that you voted so you can't vote again... bing bang boom.
For those saying "nothings happened YET", if you have a better idea to keep something safe, the you should always do it. Do you lock your doors at night? Why have you ever been robbed/burglarized? All it would take one election to be seriously contested for the Union to fall apart, are you willing to take that risk?
Apple's deep manufacturing presence in China involved a significant transfer of technological expertise, which helped fuel China's rise as a global tech powerhouse.

This is true ... now the Chinese are surpassing Apple. We had trouble with the ICE, so went straight to EV. Now no one can match China's capabilties.

So I'm betting most of this is junk.

In China we can build hundreds of large container ships a year. The US can barely build 1. China can build 10 warships a year, the US can't produce 1 in a decade.

Its all fun and games in Montana isn't it, until you realize the US carriers are pretty much sitting ducks to hypersonic missiles.
AFAICT the US can't build anything anymore, from HSR, ships, to weapon systems ...

Perhaps but consider this, Trump might have saved more US lives than all the bombing the US did in the Middle East.

IMO it was putting them in "projects"; and welfare system rewarded single moms over family; who thought that these were good ideas?

Trump was just found in court to have violated The Posse Comitatus Act.
Where are the (sic) Constitutional scholars on this?
From the ruling ..
The evidence at trial established that Defendants systematically used armed soldiers (whose identity was often obscured by protectivearmor) and military vehicles to set up protective perimeters and traffic blockades, engagein crowd control, and otherwise demonstrate a military presence in and around LosAngeles.
In short, Defendants violated the Posse Comitatus Act.Almost three months after Defendants first deployed the ...
The issue is the Posse Comitatus Act states clearly...
Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army, the Navy, the Marine Corps, the Air Force, or the Space Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.
www.law.cornell.edu
Technically the ruling isn't reading the Posse Act correctly, as in the exception by "Act of Congress", in this case the Insurrection Act.
I hereby call into Federal service members and units of the National Guard under 10 U.S.C. 12406 to temporarily protect ICE and other United States Government personnel who are performing Federal functions, including the enforcement of Federal law, and to protect Federal property, at locations where protests against these functions are occurring or are likely to occur based on current threat assessments and planned operations.
www.whitehouse.gov
As I have previously argued, the NF Military, forces can't "execute the laws", only protect the government agents, assets that are used in executing the laws. The description in the ruling is clear, it was protection focused. Ergo ... I expect the it to be vacated by the current 3 9th circuit judges, and then taken up by the 9th circuit formally, I think its called a "limited en banc court" (LEBC)
Anything else I can help you idiots with?

Sort of, but my take is, its not so simple.
Ranking in violent crime, top of the list is the worst:
The issue with rankings is its always per 100,000 or some statistic. There really is a high density of crime and shootings in particular Chicago areas.
abc7chicago.com
bestneighborhood.org
Why is Trump picking on Chicago?
Because of the percentages of African Americans, in these towns.
To any of these :
St. Louis, MO 69.4
Baltimore, MD 51.1
New Orleans, LA 40.6
Detroit, MI 39.7
Cleveland, OH 33.7
You'd call him a racist if he went to a city like above. The point of Newsom, calling out of primarily African American crime areas is a racist dog whistle. Hoping racist point this fact out.
That fact:
Black (males) Americans have high homicide rates, in fact its over half of all homicides, and this doesn't include the high percentage of unsolved homicides.
So go figure Trump is playing it safe, going after a homicides in a high population with a low percentage of Blacks. To avoid being called a racist.
Everyone knows where the violent crime is, no one wants to point it out. In fact thats why its gotten so bad in these neighborhoods.
Crime keeps people in poverty, black people are in poverty because Democrats seem to look the other way when there is PoC crime. Thus perpetuating black poverty. While Republicans are too chicken about being called racist.
Black people deserve peace. Lowering crime in their neighborhoods would be the first step to lift black people out of poverty.
You think so?
That's so disappointing.
Oh well. I'm entertained, so I can't really give less of a ---- about your assessments of my online psychological assessments.
