Colorado State's 56-26 loss against Oregon State wasn't without controversy. It just happened to take place on the sidelines as opposed to the field. The Rams announced that they were sacking second-year defensive coordinator Tyson Summers. The transaction appears to have been at least partially influenced by Summer's exit partway through the team's defeat. Summers stepped away from his program halfway through Colorado State's loss. He disappeared into the locker room at halftime, never to return.
An editorial in the Chicago Tribune laments what might have been had "Kenneth C. Griffin not become so frustrated with the state of Illinois as to move himself and much of the financial company he founded, Citadel, to Miami." The Tribune is responding to the news that Mr. Griffin is moving a whole lot more to Florida after departing the expensive dysfunction of Illinois governance.
When the Empire State conducted barbaric prisoner executions by electric chair until 1963, the terminator was euphemistically titled New York State Electrician. Famous victims of Thomas Edison's rocking chair included railroaded immigrants Sacco and Vanzetti (1927) and atomic spies Julius and Ethel Rosenberg (1953). The first woman electrocuted in New York was Ruth Snyder (1928), whose insurance murder scheme was the genesis of the classic 1944 film Double Indemnity. Besides the inhumanity of executing convicts, when spies or serial murderers are liquidated, their secrets go to the grave with them. Such villains may wish an improvement in their hellish conditions, such as a newer cell, more time in the prison yard under the sun, or an increase in cigarette rations. In exchange, these malefactors would provide information to investigators on a cold case or other national security secrets they purloined. The lives of three of the five NYS "electricians" did not unfold well.
The latest sales tax increase in Los Angeles County took effect Thursday after voters approved a half-cent hike in June to support health care and other essential services. The Essential Services Restoration Act, known as Measure ER, increased the county's baseline sales tax rate from 9.75% to 10.25%. The increase is temporary. Measure ER allows the tax to remain in effect through Oct. 1, 2031, and is projected to generate about $1 billion annually. Sales tax exemptions include groceries, prescription medications, and medical equipment. Read more
In December 2025, about a month before the U.S. invaded Venezuela and captured its president, Nicolas Maduro, President Trump had a secret meeting with Elon Musk, Time magazine reports. This was roughly seven months after Musk left his role in the Trump administration at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). During this meeting, Trump "spent hours" talking to Musk's Grok chatbot, including asking how Venezuelans would respond to the capture of their president, a source told Time.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Tuesday called on Americans to vote against President Trump ahead of the midterm elections to change U.S. policy toward Tehran and accept the offer of a "peaceful coexistence." IRGC spokesperson Gen. Hossein Mohebbi made the request in a 25-page letter, marking seven months since Iran's conflict with the U.S. and Israel began in late February.

Steve Hilton came in with next to no chance of becoming the next California governor, but maybe if he focused on touting the feel-good messages he's been spouting since launching his campaign in front of the Huntington Beach Pier earlier this year " Make California Gold Again! Califordable! I'm a Legal Immigrant with a British Accent! " he might've convinced at least a few voters to go with him. Instead, Hilton debated like someone already preparing to launch a podcast or beg for his old Fox News job back after he gets walloped. When your solution for solving California's housing crisis is building 10 new cities, you're not running for California governor " you're angling for an influencer job with the Irvine Co. Read more
(Theory of Stupidity)
Why do smart, educated people often give up their own judgment? Three weeks before his execution in 1943, pastor and theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote a chilling breakdown of human psychology from a Nazi prison cell:
"Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice."
In this video, we unpack Bonhoeffer's Theory of Stupidity"explaining why evil has limits, why facts cannot cure a closed mind, and how group identity forces good people to stop thinking for themselves.

Attorney General Todd Blanche, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, and United States Attorney Daniel N. Rosen announced that a federal grand jury indicted ten defendants separately on September 24, 2026, for voter fraud. All defendants have made their initial appearances in federal court. "Today's charges allege that ten foreign nationals committed voter fraud in Minnesota, one voting illegally as recently as this August's primary," said Attorney General Todd Blanche. "The law is clear, only American citizens may vote in American elections, and enforcing this law is fundamental to our democracy. That should not be a partisan concept." "Our message to aliens who vote in American elections is clear: we will find you, arrest you, and you will face the consequences, including criminal charges and deportation," said DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin.
Drivers can only let a child aged 8 through 15 use a standard vehicle seatbelt if they pass all five safety checks. If they fail even one, they must use a booster seat or child restraint. The 5-Step Test: Drivers can only let a child aged 8 through 15 use a standard vehicle seatbelt if they pass all five safety checks. If they fail even one, they must use a booster seat or child restraint. The 5 Steps for Seatbelt Fit: 1. The child's back rests flat against the vehicle seat. 2. The knees bend comfortably at the edge of the seat cushion. 3. The lap belt sits low and snug across the hips and thighs"not across the stomach. 4. The shoulder belt crosses the collarbone and chest"away from the neck and face. 5. The child can maintain this exact posture for the entire trip. It turns out President Trump's promised "mass deportations" won't require dragnets and cattle cars after all. This summer ICE racked up the largest numbers of arrests of illegal aliens ever recorded, with more on the way. And all without the theatrics that culminated in the shooting of two Americans by DHS officers in Minneapolis. The intentionally provocative approach of ousted DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and her field commander, Border Patrol agent Greg Bovino, was thrilling for the more excitable elements on both the Right and the Left. One side wanted revenge for Biden's and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas's truly lawless and harmful border policies, while the anti-borders side was practically giddy with euphoria at having their fantasies of impending fascism seemingly confirmed.

Federal prosecutors in Texas have charged a Venezuelan delivery driver who was shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent earlier this month with assaulting a federal officer, according to court documents unveiled Tuesday. The prosecutors accused 28-year-old Wilber Rafael Garces Perez of striking an ICE officer with his vehicle's side-view mirror as he drove away in an attempt to evade arrest. Garces Perez faces one count of assaulting, resisting and impeding a federal officer.
Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts woman charged with killing her three young children, was back in court Tuesday morning for a hearing that could determine the future of the case. Three weeks ago, a judge declared a mistrial in the case after the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict as a result of one juror who didn't agree she's not responsible for the killings. During the trial, Clancy didn't deny that she killed her children, and her attorney, Kevin Reddington, argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and was overmedicated when she strangled the children and attempted to take her own life.
