Trump Suggests He'll Support Florida's Pro-Choice Amendment

"I think the six weeks is too short, it has to be more time," Trump told NBC News, referring to Florida's six-week abortion ban that went into effect in May. When the NBC News reporter asked the former president if that means he will vote in favor of the abortion rights amendment, he responded: "I'm gonna be voting that we need more than six weeks."

"There's an old saying in Tennessee - I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee - that says, 'Fool me once, shame on...shame on you. Fool me... - you can't get fooled again!'"

Trump is literally trying to drive a wedge right down the middle of his own evangelical base.

I have never seen any presidential candidate thrown more spaghetti against the wall than Trump is right now. If he keeps this up, I can see many pro-life righties staying home this year because they absolutely aren't going to vote for Harris and Trump is rolling back bans and promising free IVF - which would means millions of fertilized ovums that will never be birthed.

I'm afraid those are deal breakers with the hardliners.

Trump Suggests He'll Support Florida's Pro-Choice Amendment

He probably should, considering how many abortions he's probably paid for in his life. Wouldn't want anyone to accuse him of hypocrisy. Not that the hypocrisy would cost him a single Talibaptist vote.

Key word here is "suggests." See "Trump says he opposes six-week abortion ban adopted by his home state of Florida
But the former president won't say whether he'll vote for the ballot measure to overturn the new restriction"

Mr. PersonWomanMan ... Camera ... TV!, as usual, wants it every which way. His latest stunt about IVF is of a piece with this is/isn't middle school nonsense. Such a big girl's blouse.

Wait 5 minutes and he'll reverse his position on abortion now that he realizes it is probably the issue that will determine who wins this election. Trump is flip flopping on the hour. It's easy when you really don't believe ib anything.

Wait 5 minutes and he'll reverse his position on abortion now

Already done. Donald received a personal call from one of the head pro-life evangelical Xtian group's leaders telling him that he needs to clarify his position on abortion lest he lose the support of this group's members who're now questioning his bonafides. They told him straight up, if you're pro-choice, we aren't knocking on doors for you. So confirms the genesis of his comments today, but speculation is still running rampant that evangelicals are finally realizing that Trump isn't wedded to a complete abortion ban, which is what they want. And that his other antics are the antithesis of being Christ-like.

And even as he avowed to vote against the Florida abortion referendum, he still said that 6 weeks is too early along to completely ban elective abortions. This is not what evangelicals want to hear. IMO, Trump's mouth has finally got his ample rear in trouble with his base, and it may cost him in states not yet even on the radar. Evangelicals are not going to vote for Harris no matter what. But if they sour on Trump, they simply won't cast a presidential vote at all, which obviously would be a boon to Harris all across the country.

Trump's PO'd women, veterans, people of color, the disabled, democracy lovers, etc etc

Maybe this time the evangelical crowd will finally understand Trump stands for nothing but putting himself first above all.

But I doubt it. They won't believe their own eyes and ears in their sycophantic adoration of their anti-Christ.

No they won't or can't. athey have been conditioned to listen to consernativr=e Bible thumpers who led them to Nixon snd they have lost the ability to think foe themselves. Inwardly they believe it is a sin to question authority probably because many of them wereout of control earlier in their lives and they found that obedience to authority without questiioning keeps them safw and out of trouble. I think it is actually necessary for some who were involved in hard drugs and bad relationships before they found God and now nothing can sway them away from Bible yhumping ministers and right wing Republicans. I know some folks like that but I also knew them before they found God and probably, for them, it is better to liveaccording to strict rules with unquestioning obedience. It's not foe me but it is how they have decided how they need to live their lives.

Strategic ambiguity. Trump used it to his benefit in 2016 resulting in, for example, some pro-choice idiots voting him into office. Only to see Trump appoint the most conservative Supreme Court the US has seen in the last 100 years that immediately nullified Roe. He's hoping that he can go for a repeat.

Will Americans fall for it again?

Just effing hilarious. I'm working on a book right now in which the first testimonial in the front matter comes from one Donald J. Trump, whom the book refers to as the most pro-life US ever. Book is supposed to go to print next week.

Not my problem ...

Well, that didn't take long. 24 hours to reverse his position?

Trump comes out against Florida's abortion rights ballot measure
www.nbcnews.com

... Former President Donald Trump came out on Friday against a ballot measure in his home state of Florida that would expand access to abortion, after spending a day doing damage control on the issue.
