Former GOP Congresswoman Liz Cheney Endorses Kamala Harris

"As a conservative, as someone who believes in and cares about the Constitution, I have thought deeply about this. Because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only am I not voting for Donald Trump, but I will be voting for Kamala Harris."

While I am not at all surprised at fmr Rep Cheney's not wanting to vote to fmr Pres Trump, the "I will be voting for Kamala Harris" aspect was a surprise.

As I have said many times in the past, I have significant political disagreements with fmr Rep Cheney.

However, one thing she and I agree upon is the rule of law, the rule of the Constitution.

HOW MANY DEMOCRATS (that aren't bought and paid for by Russia) HAVE ENDORSED FAT DONNIE FELON???

Liz Cheney says that her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, will be voting for Kamala Harris.

Liz Cheney also gives her support to another Democrat: Colin Allred, who is challenging Senator Ted Cruz of Texas. "I'll be working on his behalf," she said.

I wonder if she might be angling for a job in the Harris Administration..

Dick Cheney is also reportedly voting for Kamala Harris.

I think she actually gives a damn about her country.

Not a chance. Liz disagrees with almost every single Democratic position outside of national defense.

The Cheney's are simply placing country over party in the most shocking political turn that I've ever seen. This is ringing a 5-alarm fire bell telling Americans of all persuasions that Donald Trump is a clear and present danger to this nation and its continuance as a constitutional republic, full stop.

There are no former Presidents Vince Presidents or Nominees for either job that are endorsing Trump.

Unless you want to count Palin as something other than a joke.

Who said that Trump isn't a uniter?

He's brought Bernie Sanders and AOC along with Liz and Dick Cheney together on the same side - against him.

Might be one of the few net-positive things he's done for America over the last 15 years.

Lord knows, he's driven millions of us apart since the introduction of his reptilian politics.

Society doesn't want trump back in office they want him in prison and for them to get a chance to try to get back friends and family that were fooled by him.

Yep, there's simply no way to spin this. In traditional Republican circles, Dick Cheney is their John Wayne. And now, John Wayne is telling you that Donald Trump is a bad guy, and that he's voting for the Democrat.

Can't call Dick Cheney a RINO. Can't say that he doesn't know what he's talking about when he was the Vice President in charge on 9/11. Can't say that he's not a real American, like they do with every other Republican who finds him equally abhorrent. Can't call him a commie, and you can't criticize his foreign policy inside GOP circles.

It'll be interesting to see what they come up with, or have we finally reached the point that a flood of traditional Republicans will finally acknowledge that which they should have recognized no later than January 6th 2021?

They all support killing brown people. It's BiPartisan.

I'm Boycotting this election. It's Not worth the time it takes to vote.

Whoever wins will do it without me.

Russian citizens can't vote in US elections anyway so you don't have to worry and it.

The republican Party no longer represents conservatives.

It represents ignorant, angry morons.

The Democratic Party really has become this nation's only party.

At this point, I would not go so far as "not a chance."

Interesting essay (OpEd?)

Diversity in Presidential Cabinets
whorulesamerica.ucsc.edu

... How diverse is President Joe Biden's cabinet?

For more than 25 years, in three editions of Diversity in the Power Elite (1998, 2006, 2018), Bill Domhoff and I have been tracking diversity in the corporate, political, and military elites. This has included systematic looks at the extent to which presidential cabinets have changed, from the all-white and almost all-male cabinets of most of the first 75 years of the twentieth century, to the cabinets of the last 45 years -- which have included more women, some Blacks, some Latinx, and some Asian Americans.

Trump's cabinet was the least diverse in thirty years.

The 15 men and women in Biden's initial cabinet are much more diverse, of course, than the 21 men and three women Trump appointed to his cabinet during his four years in office. But how does Biden's cabinet compare to previous cabinets?

Note that cabinet positions have changed over time.

I have used the ones that were designated officially as cabinet positions when each President was in office. The current 15 cabinet positions are: Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, Education, Energy, Health and Human Services (HHS), Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Interior, Justice, Labor, State, Transportation, Treasury, and Veterans Affairs. I have not included the various cabinet-level positions (such as Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Management and Budget (OMB) or the representative to the United Nations), even though some Presidents have included them in cabinet meetings, and over the years some people have lobbied for certain of these to be designated as full cabinet positions. When relevant, however, I have mentioned appointments to cabinet-level positions. ...
