Iran Whiffs in Attack on Israel, Israel Promises Payback

Following Iran's missile barrage, which saw more than 180 rockets launched across Israel, in which no one was injured, the IDF vowed Tuesday night to carry out "powerful airstrikes throughout the Middle East." A defense official promised a "severe response," while another Israeli official warned, "What Iran has suffered so far is only a fraction of what it will face now." A high-ranking government official added, "Israel has full legitimacy for an unprecedented strike on Iranian soil - this is the time to strike at the head of the Iranian snake."

"When Iran is finally free - and that moment will come a lot sooner than people think - everything will be different," he asserted. "Our two ancient peoples, the Jewish people and the Persian people, will finally be at peace. Our two countries, Israel and Iran, will be at peace."

"Six killed in shooting and knife attack in Tel Aviv

Six people have been killed in a shooting and knife attack in Tel Aviv, police in Israel have confirmed.

At least nine others were reported to have been injured, and several are in a critical condition.

Police said the attack began in a rail carriage and continued on the platform. Images posted on social media showed the gunman shooting at bystanders in the Jaffa area.

Police said two attackers were "neutralised" by members of the public and described the motive as "terror".

The shooting occurred shortly before an Iranian missile attack against Israel began."

Two guys on the streets killed more than did the missile attack.

So if some shots at you and misses, that should just be ignored? Guess you should wait till they actually hit you before any physical or legal action should be taken....

That's EXACTLY what Trump did when the Iranians clobbered our men with SCUDS.

He IGNORED the attack, DID NOT retaliate, and then LIED about the number of casualties we took.

This story is getting a lot of play today, as it should.

"Head of Iranian Secret Service unit monitoring Mossad was double agent for Israel, says ex-president Ahmadinejad

Former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad claims in an interview that the head of a Secret Service unit set up to target Mossad agents working in the country turned out to be an Israeli agent.

Speaking to CNN Turk, Ahmadinejad claims that a further 20 agents in the Iranian intelligence team tasked with monitoring Israeli intelligence activities were also turned against Tehran.

The alleged double agents were providing Israel with sensitive information on the Iranian nuclear program, according to his comments in the interview, which were widely picked up by international media."

Now, now. You are going to make him cry. Again.

Hate when that happens. All the Tomcats think he's in heat. Again.

I would correct him in his disturbing unreality that Iran was aiming missiles at itinerant Palestinians, but it's best just to treat him like a child.

Give him a pat on the head. Or a missile would save us all the time we waste correcting him.

This was actually a success for Iran.

Iran was sending a message. "We have missiles that can get through the Iron Dome and can reach Tel Aviv."

They hit only military targets (unlike Israel). But now Israel is reminded that Iran can cause some level of destruction if it chooses.

Yes, Iran only attacks military targets. Like when they instructed Hamas to attack that "military" music festival on October 7th. "Iran and state-sponsored terrorism" Wikipedia

Anywho, these 180 rockets were about 7% of Iran's estimated stock (3,000) from a year or so ago www.cnn.com. So Iran could definitely get through and hit some Israeli targets if they shot their entire load. Only question is what happens afterwards, since even 10,000 missiles wouldn't eliminate Israel's military response. And that's not taking into account the US, UK, and French response.

I havent trusted the Middle East since the USS Liberty was attacked in 1967 but not exposed until later. USN sailors died, and LBJ kept circumstances hidden. And some in our corrupt govt would oddly still claim say this cant be mentioned.

... Iran Whiffs in Attack on Israel ...

Too soon to say, "whiffs?"

Iranian missile strike on Israel shows capability for greater scale, complexity
www.reuters.com

... The Iranian ballistic missile attack against Israel on Tuesday was larger, more complex and involved more advanced weapons than the strikes in April, experts say, putting greater stress on missile defences and allowing more warheads to get through.

Although debris from the more than 180 missiles is still being collected and analysed, experts say the latest attacks appear to have used Iran's Fattah-1 and Kheybarshekan missiles, both of which have a reported range of about 1,400 kilometres (870 miles).

Iran has said both missiles have manoeuvring warheads, which can make defence more difficult, and use solid fuel, meaning they can be launched with little warning.

"Shorter launch prep means those missiles arrive all at once to further stress the defence," said Jeffrey Lewis, director of the East Asia Nonproliferation Program at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in California.

"The (warheads) can manoeuvre a bit to complicate interceptor allocation, and manoeuvring means they can strike with better accuracy to actually hit targets after they are through."

Some Fattah-1 missiles were used in the April strike, which was largely defeated by U.S. and Israeli missile defences. But most were liquid-fuelled Emad ballistic missiles, which had a reported failure rate of 50%, Lewis said, and only enough accuracy to hit a target more than 1 km in diameter.

By contrast, Iran has said its more advanced ballistic missiles have a "circular error probable" of about 20 metres, meaning half of all the missiles fired at a target will land within 20 metres of it. They are "Iran's most advanced ballistic missiles capable of reaching Israel", said Fabian Hinz, research associate for defence and military affairs at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS). ...
