Judge Likely to Release Secret Jack Smith Dossier on Trump

The judge in Donald Trump's alleged election fraud case is likely to allow prosecutors to make their evidence public next month.

"She was responding to a submission by prosecutor Jack Smith, who wrote that October's release would include "quotations or summaries of information" from sensitive sources such as 'grand jury transcripts, interview reports, or material obtained through sealed search warrants,' while redacting some information, such as the names of witnesses who could be 'intimidated and threatened" by Trump supporters."

This is SO reminiscent of the old Mafia prosecutions where witness protection was at a premium.

The Trump Mafia is bringing back witness protection to it's former status.

As I've said before, it's up to the judge's discretion. Although I can't imagine why any judge would deliberately start a Sunday morning talk show public opinion war with no guardrails as to truth or authentication . . . and a desperate defendant like Donald Trump who is watching his life flash before his eyes.

If so, and this case goes to trial, I can see a request for a change of venue in the making. The nation's Capital is not a friendly jury pool for Donald Trump.

Judge Chutkin will say "No."

"Judge Chutkin will say "No."

I certainly hope so. Trump has a 'Hail Mary' habit of creating the publicity and then complaining bitterly about it.

Is there anybody alive who doesn't know the drill by now?

If Trump loses the case, he has another habit of appealing the decision to the U.S. Supreme Court based on his claim that he got a raw deal re the venue. They'll overturn the guilty jury's guilty verdict and he'll get off scott free.

As an aside, it's a tall order but if Harris can get a filibuster proof Senate, she really needs to do something about this Supreme Court who have gone to the dark side.

He'll still have Jack Smith's 150 pages of evidence to contend with.

If Chutkin releases it, which this article suggest she will, it'll remind the entire country of Trump's criminal efforts to overturn the 2020 election, and be on the news for several days thanks to Trump's big, whiny, lying mouth.

That true. The goose and the gander will both have their share of red meat.

But I still don't like the idea. Why open that door if the judge doesn't have to.

It's just inviting trouble.

True

Between FOX and MSNBC, etc, the media will tear Trump apart and put him back together again so many times that he'll end up with his head on backwards.

Frankly, I don't think she even gets to be president at this time. This is the strongest display of MAGAtism I have seen to date going on in my area. I can't believe the number of signs I am seeing and where. Throw in the fact that the Arab population has gone virulently anti Biden/Harris over Gaza and now Lebanon. They don't get it. They are saying Trump would stop Nuttyahoo. I am telling them Trump would give him everything he is asking for - and then triple it. As it stands I believe sadly that Trump carries Michigan.

This is what Trump asked for when he appealed to the Supreme Court. The Court said ok boss, we will give you immunity for official acts. In doing so they left it up to lower courts to determine what is and is not an official act. And now Chutkin is having to do exactly what the Court said she has to do.

Of course, I'm concerned like everybody else, but I don't feel quite that pessimistic about Harris winning.

I'm also wondering how that hurricane is going to affect voter turnout in North Caroline. For either candidate.

I trust Judge Chutkin to be studious in her decision. Remember, Jack Smith altered his new filing to comply with the Supreme Court immunity decision so that could favor the prosecution case considerably. The rest depends upon us voters.

Cross your fingers.

The document is available via PDF here I expect the DR fascists to read it as thoroughly as they read the Mueller Report, the 9/11 Commission Report and The Constitution of the United States (especially #2), which is to say, of course they will just parrot the talking points that Rupert Murdoch's pinheads read off next to Jonathan Turley on their entertainment channel.
