Jan. 6 Officers: 'He Betrayed Us'

The decisive election of Donald Trump on Tuesday sent a clear message to Aquilino Gonell and other officers who protected the Capitol from rioters on Jan. 6, 2021.

"It means that the American people have accepted Jan. 6 as something that could be condoned," the former Capitol Police sergeant said the morning after Trump won his second, nonconsecutive term, handily beating Vice President Kamala Harris.

"They have put Donald Trump above the law. ... He betrayed us. And the vast majority of the American people think that's OK."

-He betrayed us. And the vast majority of the American people think that's OK

I am not convinced the vast majority of the American people connect Trump to J6.

call it ignorance
call it denial (both apply IMO)
call it whatever you want......but I don't think people believe it's "okay" but rather they remove Trump from it so they can avoid admitting it's okay.

my 2 cents....

Sargent Gonell is absolutely right. trump's speech instigated that riot and the Capitol Police were fighting for their lives while assistance was intentionally withheld. But, for what it's worth, they'll all get their comeuppance when trump turns his back on them. And given trump's track record in business and this countries crushing debt, I see a repeat of the 1930's in our future.

The MAGA filth who support the------------- celebrated the deaths of the 5 DC police officers who perished because of J6.

And there denial will allow for that, even as he pardons those convicted.

Americans are now, more than ever, understanding they've been lied to about a lot of things. J6 just happens to be a big one.

J6 was instigated, I'll give you that, but it wasn't instigated by Trump.

The noxious------------- instigated and funded the insurrection.

"Political operations linked to former President Donald Trump and the GOP gave millions to those that organized the Jan. 6 rally before a mob of pro-Trump rioters stormed the Capitol, according to a watchdog group.

OpenSecrets, a non-profit research group that focuses on campaign finance, found that Trump's political network and other Republican Party groups gave at least $12.6 million to the organizers since the 2020 election cycle began.

Trump and his affiliates haven't turned off the funding spigot since the riot, according to OpenSecrets, which found millions of dollars in contributions to the rally organizers during the 2022 cycle."

He planned and paid for the violent riot to stop the peaceful transfer of power, and he paid for the illegal Fake Electors, many of who are in prison now.

And Trumpers are proud as they can be of him... for being a traitor and a criminal.

... The decisive election of Donald Trump on Tuesday sent a clear message to Aquilino Gonell and other officers who protected the Capitol from rioters on Jan. 6, 2021. ...

Trump on Day 1: Begin deportation push, pardon Jan. 6 rioters and make his criminal cases vanish
abcnews.go.com

... Donald Trump has said he wouldn't be a dictator -- "except for Day 1." According to his own statements, he's got a lot to do on that first day in the White House.

His list includes starting up the mass deportation of migrants, rolling back Biden administration policies on education, reshaping the federal government by firing potentially thousands of federal employees he believes are secretly working against him, and pardoning people who were arrested for their role in the riot at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. ...

[emphasis mine]

So, why has Pres-elect Trump explicitly stated that he wants to pardon those peple who were convicted for their January 6, 2021 crimes?

What is the basis of those pardons?

Betrayed NOW?
Just wait until January 21 when he pardons all of the traitors.
THEN you can really talk about betrayal.

Absolutely right!
Trump just invited them there, on social media, repeatedly.
Trump only set up a rostrum on the Mall, pointing at the Capitol repeatedly during his speech.
Trump only invited like-minded insurrectionists to speak and rile up the crowd.
Trump just argued they needed to "fight like hell" to keep the procedure from happening.
Trump just tried to go there with them, stopped only by the Secret Service.
Trump only set up in advance camera equipment fed to a tent stocked with food and drinks on the White House lawn(!) to observe and celebrate what would happen.

ABSOLUTELY not his doing or responsibility at all!
