End of an 'Eras' For Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, a "cultural juggernaut" remarkable for both its scale and intimacy, comes to an end this week. Along the way, it has become the most extraordinary live event of our time " and for many, it's meant even more. This weekend, after 20 months, 149 shows, a blockbuster concert film and millions of friendship bracelet swaps, Taylor Swift's Eras Tour finally comes to an end in Vancouver, Canada.

Gad. I was in Vancouver last weekend... dodged a bullet there.

Yeah, Ms Swift seems to be breaking all manner of records.

Spotify named her as their most streamed artist.

Frankly I don't see it.

She seems to be a pop artist who has gone big. But why all the attention?

And, fwiw, I am not a "hater," I am a "don't care" person who is just trying to understand why the attention.

Yeah, she performs in skimpy costumes. Is that it?

Or is there more to her appeal?

I wish I knew.

Or is there more to her appeal?

All I know is she wrecks city traffic more than a POTUS motorcade.

The appeal? Don't really grasp it myself, but it's definitely there. Seems positive. Good on her. Besides, now I can give my son, a mega Chiefs fan, a cap for Christmas with the logo: "Go Taylor's Boyfriend."

"why all the attention"

My guess is, her lyrics are what every teenage girl sings to herself (whether in reality or fantasy).

"But why all the attention?"

This has far more to do with moneyed interests cultivating and promoting an image than the existence of extraordinary talent.

She was careful not to get too high on Trump's enemies list.

After supporting Harris I worried about her safety making all those public appearances.

She's a maker of standards. Weddings, proms, B-Mitzvahs... pretty much all I now about her.

'Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off
Heartbreakers gonna break, break, break, break, break
And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off

She sings a good song. Very dancable. Make a body move.

While I like some of Swift's music, Lily Allen's rendition of F**k You is far more relevant for the times.

"Swift has earned the crown as the most-streamed artist globally for the second year in a row, thanks mainly her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, which was the most-streamed album of the year on Spotify....Swift's The Tortured Poets Department broke several Spotify records, including becoming the first album to top 300 million streams in one day

Swift's music generated more than 26.6 billion streams on the platform this year."

I don't think reality much cares whether we understand or not.

Will trump trap her and treat her like princess Leia to his Jabba? Time will tell.

@#5 ... My guess is, her lyrics are what every teenage girl sings to herself (whether in reality or fantasy)....

Combine that with her skimpy stage costumes to pull in the horny males, and you have a pop sensation.

But is it Real?
