Flooding Deaths Rise To 12 In Kentucky

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear gave multiple updates Monday on flooding impacts across the state, including an update on the death toll. So far, at least 12 Kentuckians have died in storm-related incidents. The additional deaths include a man in Floyd County and a man in Hardin County. On Monday evening, he announced another, but no details yet.

The state doesn't need the president to activate the National Guard Dummkopf. Each states governors are the commanders in chiefs of their states National Guards. BTW FEMA is specifically designed for these National emergencies. Yes the National Guard is critical in these type of events but so is FEMA. Learn something for once.

President Donald Trump authorized FEMA to provide federal disaster assistance to all 120 Kentucky counties.

The FEMA assistance is in response to the severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding and landslides that began Feb. 14.

FEMA officials were specifically authorized to, "Identify, mobilize and provide at its discretion, equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impacts of the emergency."

In a release from the FEMA Press Office, "Emergency protective measures, limited to direct federal assistance, will be provided at 75% federal funding."

Many states don't have the resources available to combat these types of emergencies. This is where FEMA comes into play. They have the resources necessary to alleviate the hardships faced when these tragedies occur. Think Hurricane Katrina for example. You really need to educate yourself better. You're lacking in this area. Just sayin
