"The added value Europe offers is that we will never demand a deal that's not mutually beneficial," top official Stphane Sjourn says.

The European Union offered its own agreement on "critical materials" to Ukraine on Monday, just as U.S. President Donald Trump claimed Washington was close to inking a deal with Kyiv for the rights to its vast natural resources.

"Twenty-one of the 30 critical materials Europe needs can be provided by Ukraine in a win-win partnership," Sjourn said, according to AFP.

And he noted pointedly: "The added value Europe offers is that we will never demand a deal that's not mutually beneficial."

So... according to the thread link vid, it was Zelensky sometime last year selling Trump on the idea of getting a Contract for Ukrainian minerals in exchange for continued US support.

It also appears that this is part of an ongoing US vs China trade war over certain minerals... including Gallium, which China controls and Ukraine is also a source.

btw.... the strip mining in the video is on a yuge scale.

Zelenskyy is smart and doing what he has to in order to keep US support going. He knows that the only thing that will motivate Trump is money (and his unrequited (?) love for Ivanka).
