I experienced skyrocketing prices caused by tariffs myself in the past week.

Two items I bought at Home Depot last month had more than doubled when I bought two more this week.

Trump's tariffs are about to hurt everyone's pocketbooks and put businesses out of business.

Small businesses won't survive the Trump presidency.

#1: Hi American Unity: TV mobster Tony Soprano learned that one of his capos, Vito Spatafore Sr, was gay, which to the mafia is an infamia. But Tony was reluctant to whack Vito because he was the top earner in the Soprano Crime Family. If Trumpf was a capo in a crime family and destroying business like he is with the US economy, the Dotard would be snuffed without question. Link: youtu.be

Trump's the opposite of an "earner," isn't he? He's now costing all of us more.

Americans are about to find out just how bad he is for consumers. The linked article has images of receipts with added tariff charges.

A local supermarket typically sold a dozen (imported) roses for $19.99 until this week. They were $34.99 yesterday.

The whole spectrum of goods American consumers buy are skyrocketing in price.

#4: Trumpf is an "earner" for the elites, insider traders, crypto-currency grifters, real estate moguls, and Russian oligarchs, so he hasn't been iced. But for the American people, Trumpf is certainly no "earner." I hope Republican voters are delighted to have the Idiot-in-Chief literally taking food off their tables. My wife and I sold a farm we owned a couple of years ago. We're SO glad we did. The man who farmed it for us for years (and bought it from us) is now dealing with skyrocketing prices on everything from fertilizer to parts for equipment. I feel badly for him over that, but with a sigh and a head shake because he supported the dotard and got what he voted for.

#6: 'Tis quite difficult to be sympathetic to a racist who voted for Trumpf, isn't it? The ballot your farmer cast on 5 Nov 2024 was really a bullet he fired at his own foot or head, splashing economic bloodshed everywhere.

- got what he voted for.

There's a lot of that going around. It may be harder in future to deny ever being MAGA than was to deny being a Bush Republican, after he destroyed the economy... after he killed masses of people in his war.

Just calling yourself a, 'Libertarian' instead ain't a' gonna werk this time!

As long as the Dump is in charge, it will be short-term pain, followed by long-term pain.

Anyone with 'sticker shock' is the reason why the American economy is where it is today because they prioritized buying cheap imported crap over employing Americans. Further, the liberals crying about paying more for tariffs while also lamenting how 'there are no good jobs' are a symptom of the deeper problem with America today. Shipping manufacturing to Mexico and China devastated the US middle class. That is why college 'educated' liberals can't find jobs now and are also crying about their inability to repay their loans. The reality, those liberals CAN'T EVEN AFFORD THE CHINESE CRAP - they should simply be adjusting their lifestyles to something sustainable. As the economy fixes itself and more employment becomes available in the US, hopefully some of their 'education' will actually be put to productive use.

I will give you the alternative path the US COULD HAVE TAKEN from the 1980's until today. Rather than import low wage illegals or ship jobs to Mexico and China to pay pennies on the dollar in labor costs - companies invested in R&D and automation in the US. Thus, the jobs would have never left but our factories would have become higher tech needing a more educated workforce to design, build, and maintain them. As a result, it puts the company on a permanent track of lower overall production costs and more goods available to consumers at lower prices.

But, the US chose a different path to temporarily lower costs vs. investing in America. Trump is finally fixing that problem and the US will be way stronger in the future as a result.

A simple question for the board:

Do any of you honestly think offshoring production to China was a good idea?

If you answer no - then you are just whining that Trump was the one to fix the problem. If you answered yes - then never complain again about wages or your poor economic situation as you are supporting it continuing.

Based on everything GED_ScottS posts.

It's obvious he hates America and hasn't a clue what he's complaining about.
