United States Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed on Tuesday that he had fired the country's top military representative to NATO.

In the military in the US, the oath sworn is not to blindly obey orders, but to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic." ( www.army.mil )

So, what happens when an order is given that runs counter to the oath sworn?
