Canadian Travel to US Plummets

The number of cross-border travelers going from Canada to the US dropped by nearly 900,000 in March compared to the same month last year. 4,105,516 travelers crossed the US northern border in March of this year, down from 4,970,360 people who did the same in 2024 " a roughly 17% decline that is largely driven by Dotard Trumpf's trade war, 51st state taunts, and Canada-bashing. Canadian visitors spent $20.5 billion stateside last year, supporting an estimated 140,000 jobs.

I already love the tariffs and tough on Canada policies - less ------- Canucks cross the border now too? I am already bought in - you can stop trying to sell me now.

Our Canadian neighbors rescued the housing market in Southwest Florida in 2009-10 when they learned that upon opening a checking account in a local bank, they gave you a condo. Canadians from the eastern half of the country rolled down I-75 with bags of cash in their Tahoes and Toyotas, and kicked off a recovery no one saw coming. For that alone every Canadian should be warmly welcomed in Florida. Instead, Canadians are getting out and staying away.

My ask: when those Canadian folks find somewhere else in the sun, not stunk up by the MAGA horde, please tell me...

#5: My friends up north have been enjoying Cuba for years. So many Canadians visit the Turks and Caicos Islands that Canada accredited a hospital there for them. The Cayman Islands are also attracting the Kanucks. Former PM Justin Trudeau used to visit the Bahamas (which recently issued a travel advisory because of rising crime).

Florida is in trouble thanks to Trumpf.

Great news, way too many Chinese countrymen in Vancouver. Too many of them fly down to SFO and clog up the good restaurants.

Check out the Caribbean and southern Mexico.
The Canadians will experience no problems moving on.

The Canadians will experience no problems moving on.

They have to overcome their own racism.
They went to those places in Florida because they're chock full of white people.

Money will help them overcome their own racism, though.

What will help them more, though, is the fact that Canadians are being detained at the border, sent to camps for two or three weeks, not charged with any crime, and then repatriated to Canada.

It's not just Canadians.

"Florida is in trouble thanks to Trump"

Trump (correctly) thinks any other Republican leader represents a potential threat to Trump.

There can only be one President.

Trumpf made it easy for Canadians from a wealthy G-7 country to spend their money elsewhere. The USCIS registration process for them began two weeks ago: www.cbc.ca
