"In a post on social media the US president claimed that the agreement had been made, hours after Iran launched an attack on a US base in Qatar."

Trump said it, so it must be true.

I wonder if he just posts stuff like this to watch and see if either side takes the bait; finds it an easier out just to say, 'Yeah we did that!'.

Really, what are the consequences for Trump? His Base doesn't hold him responsible for what he says and does, and other nations know he's a dangerous joke and a useful idiot.

Ask Vlad.

#3 | Posted by Corky at 2025-06-23 06:38 PM

Trump was trying to negotiate peace before dropping bombs.

So.

Who knows what he'll be doing in an hour from now.

Especially if Netanyahu tells him the continue attacking Iran.

- Who knows what he'll be doing in an hour from now.

Certainly not Melania! Or who he'll be doing, either. He's not keeping JD and Pete around for nothing!

"House Speaker Mike Johnson reacted to President Donald Trump's announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran by praising the president's leadership, saying that "this is what peace through strength looks like."

"It's a really remarkable achievement. President Trump deserves all the credit. This is what peace through strength looks like. We haven't seen this in a while, and it's really a big sigh of relief here on Capitol Hill," Johnson told reporters at the US Capitol on Monday, shortly after Trump announced the ceasefire on Truth Social."

Mark my words:

Something very strange is going on.

Both Israel and Iran are being very quiet. Trump says there is a ceasefire but Iran says there isn't one at first. Qatar has to confirm the ceasefire and negotiated it with Iran. Israel can keep bombing for a period of time. Trump says the ceasefire is permanent. No statements from any high ranking officials in Iran. Also Baghdad has been hit. The 60% enriched Uranium is still in Iran.

Something has happened that isn't hitting the news yet.

LOL Your innate sense couldn't smell BS.

You're the same guy that defended Biden's senility, called them "deep fakes".

#16 | Posted by oneironaut at 2025-06-23 08:11 PM

This is a huge L for Israel.

They wanted regime change: Big L
They wanted to set back Iran's nuclear ambitions 5 years: Big L
They wanted to prove they could protect themselves while hitting Iran: Big L

It's also a big L for Iran.

They wanted to prove it could defend itself: Big L
They lost a lot of top military leaders and scientists: Big L
They wanted to prove they could control their airspace: Big L

The biggest L is for Israel though. Israeli citizens understand they aren't safe if they attack Iran. Israel depleted it's Iron Dome missiles and even when it was working, it couldn't stop many of the Iranian missiles. And this is WITH help from the US and surrounding nations.

But it's yet to be seen if something else happened making it a bigger L for Iran as well.

In truth, this might just be Israel ageeing to a ceasefire so it can restock their defense missiles so they can restart the attacks.

#15 Something else that is....interesting...

According to NBC:

As Iran comes under attack, its Arab neighbors are largely AWOL
The American strikes are likely to be accepted " and even privately praised " by a Middle East officialdom that has long seen Iran as the primary threat to regional stability.

www.nbcnews.com

The article says that many Arab nations may publicly criticize the bombing of Iran but privately praise it because of a "cold war" between many Arab countries and Iran...

Caught me of guard that is for sure! If it were from FOX I'd definitely doubt it...but NBC?

#19 | Posted by Idependant97 at 2025-06-23 08:20 PM

Israel is clearly still bombing Tehran right now, and MAY decide to let that end this phase IF Iran doesn't respond... seems to be the newest reporting.

Which is fine. There's got to be an Abraham Accords 2.0 for a few years before this starts up again, if the old story is correct.

#20 | Posted by Corky at 2025-06-23 08:21 PM

Iron dome missiles are very expensive compared to the missiles they try to intercept.Israel has to pick targets cause they can't shoot them all down as they don't have enough. They protect based on value of targeted area now.

There is also a report that Chinese planes have landed in Iran.

"#19 | Posted by Idependant97"

This has been the case since the Iranian revolution. Iran is Shiite and the rest of the Gulf nations are majority Sunni including Qatar and Saudi. In the case of Saudi, they have a significant Shiite majority and those Shiites live on top of their oil - which is why they fear Iran causing an uprising as without the oil, Saudi has nothing. You see this in the Yemen Houthis as well - they are Shiite fighting against Sunni which is why Saudi is so afraid of them. This is also why Israel would rather than Al Queda and ISIS linked groups , which are all Sunni, running Syria and Iraq vs. the Shiite/Shia linked groups because they fear Iran.

#23 | Posted by ScottS at 2025-06-23 08:36 PM

"#21 | Posted by Scotty"

That is their talking point - but the reality is that Iron Dome was built to defend against homemade rockets from Gaza with very slow speeds and no ability to fly in anything but a straight line. They are useless vs. Iranian and even Yemeni missiles - especially ballistic missiles. Iran can hit them at will. The much more expensive part of their defense, including THAAD systems, have been equally inept. It is a story as old as time - it is much easier to develop a stronger weapon than stronger armor. We are at the end point of this now with ballistic missiles.

#24 | Posted by ScottS at 2025-06-23 08:40 PM

#21

True, and one could fit something like 400 Israels in the US, so imagine what the Orange Dome would cost to operate.

Iran has officially announced there is no ceasefire.

This is per Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister, Islamic Republic of Iran.

However, they said if Israel stops by 4 a.m. their time, they will stop.

Israel has not however stopped by the deadline.

Iran doesn't murder apostates, gays, and women who exercise their human rights as part of their criminal justice system? But Israel does?

Thanks for sharing how out of touch the pro-Hamas contingent is with the evil that Muslims commit in the name of their god. And how brainwashed they are against Israel, the closest thing to a modern and civilized nation that exists in that part of the world.

The Muslims, by and large, are little more than stone-age thinkers but now equipped with modern weapons. However, their morality is literally no different than the Israelis. The Jewish Supremacy of Israel is used to justify any barbaric act they do - killing women and children? - no problem. A non-Jewish life is worth less than a Jewish fingernail.

We need to take a lesson from War Games - the only winning move is not to play. Let Iran and Israel fight to to the death as they will never peacefully coexist. We just need to remove the NEOCON/AIPAC influence within the US government.

The healthcare systems of Iran and the United States differ significantly in structure, financing, and access to care. Iran's system is largely centralized with a focus on universal health coverage, while the US system is predominantly privately-funded, with a mix of public and private insurance, and a higher cost per capita.
Iran's Healthcare System:
Centralized and Publicly Focused:
Iran's system is primarily government-managed and aims for universal health coverage, with the Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MoHME) playing a central role in policy and regulation.
Primary Health Care Network:
Iran has a well-established primary health care network, particularly in rural areas, that provides essential services like vaccinations, disease prevention, and health education.
Health Insurance Coverage:
While the majority of Iranians have health insurance, some individuals, especially those in low-income brackets, may still be uninsured.
Cost:
Iran spends significantly less per capita on healthcare than the US, and out-of-pocket expenses can still be a burden for some citizens.
Efficiency:
While Iran has made strides in improving healthcare access and outcomes, it faces challenges like financial constraints, staffing shortages, and inequalities in access between urban and rural areas.
United States Healthcare System:
Privately-Dominated:
The US healthcare system is largely driven by private insurance companies and healthcare providers.
Public Programs:
The US also has public programs like Medicare and Medicaid, but a significant portion of the population relies on private insurance.
High Cost:
The US system is characterized by high healthcare costs, with the highest per capita spending globally, despite not always achieving the best health outcomes.
Access:
While the US has made progress in expanding health insurance coverage, a notable percentage of the population remains uninsured, and access to care can be a challenge for some, particularly those with limited financial resources.
Outcomes:
Despite high spending, the US system lags behind other developed nations in some key health indicators like life expectancy and infant mortality.
Comparison:
Financing:
Iran relies more on government funding and insurance plans, while the US relies heavily on private insurance and out-of-pocket payments.
Access:
Iran has made strides in providing universal health coverage, while access to care in the US can be uneven and influenced by insurance status and income.
Outcomes:
The US spends significantly more on healthcare than Iran, but its health outcomes are not necessarily better and in some areas, like life expectancy, it lags behind other developed nations.
In summary, Iran's system prioritizes universal access and public health, while the US system is characterized by higher costs and a more fragmented, private-sector driven approa

"Look at the racist trotting out his same old KKK takes.
#42 | Posted by Sycophant"

The only KKK take is the Jewish Supremacy of Israel. I don't know if you are Jewish - if you are not, you are seen as 'less than human' to them. This is same exact ideology of the Nazis. We have no business supporting a country like this. Their supremacist views are the reason for the continual wars (to reclaim their lands from 2500 years ago that never even existed outside of Jewish myths) and they will justify any barbaric act to accomplish it. The world would be a better place today with Israel turned into a giant sheet of glass by Iranian nukes.
