Southern Baptist Convention Targets 'willful childlessness'

Many of the proposed resolutions -- on gambling, pornography, sex, gender and marriage -- reflect long-standing positions of the convention, though they are especially pointed in their demands on the wider political world.

SBC Targets Porn, Sports Betting, Gay Marriage, and No Kids

Well, so long as they have no problems with rape, fraud felony convictions, adultery, or insurrection.

They're preaching hate.

If your Religion teaches you to hate, you need a new religion.

It stinks that the most radically religious' numbers are strongest, while their theocratic politics drive the more sane religious people from their respective denominations. Since we see clearly how religion's used to keep people from thinking for themselve, how it's used to control them

I have to admit, I am here on this.
Will religion destroy humanity?

#4 | Posted by twinkhunter at 2025-06-10 07:37 PM

Spoiler: you need no religion

Never take a Baptist fishing with you; he'll drink all your beer.

Take 2 Baptists with you; they will keep an eye on each other, and you can drink all your beer!

My original post had a comment about projection, and how we should expect an SBC sports betting scandal sometime down the road.

I know an SBC pastor who left the full-time ministry to drive a school bus: better benefits.

He was an odd bird. He was obviously a rocker in the early 70s, got religion, and ended up at Southern Seminary in the late 70s when the changeover to the crazies occurred. He was very happy to get out of Louisville before all the stupidity set in.

In response to an explosive investigation, top Southern Baptists have released a previously secret list of hundreds of pastors and other church-affiliated personnel accused of sexual abuse.

The 205-page database was made public late Thursday. It includes more than 700 entries from cases that largely span from 2000 to 2019.

Sorry for the triple post. The site kept asking me to correct my post and resubmit.

This is definitely going to appeal to young rudderless men, ripe for radicalization and indoctrination into MAGA.

Nixon - it did the same with me. I backed out twice, refreshed and the post was there so I stopped. Thanks for the "heads-up" on that.

What's the SBC position on spectral evidence; little men in black lurking here and there, yellow birds flitting about, Old Scratch's familiars and such?

More persecuted and oppressed Christians trying to force their ideology on everyone else. But nobody is forcing them to believe or do anything!

Good Christian women should keep their knees separated. They are vessels for the men in the congregation--any man, any time, for purposes of propigating the faith and the congregation of those who tithe...

Oh, I'm gonna get me religion
I'm gonna join the Baptist Church
Oh, I'm gonna get me religion
I'm gonna join the Baptist Church
I'm gon' be a baptist preacher
And I sure won't have to work

Oh, I'm gonna preach these blues now
And I want everybody to shout
Mm-mm, I want everybody to shout
I'm gonna do like a prisoner
I'm gon' roll my time on out

Oh, in my room, I bowed down to pray
Oh, up in my room
I bowed down to pray
Then the blues come along
And they blew my spirit away

Oh, I'd'a had religion
Lord, this very day
Oh, I'd'a had religion
Lord, this very day
But the women's and whiskey
Well, they would not let me pray

Oh, I wish I had me
A heaven of my own
Yeah, Heaven of my own
Then I'd give all my women
A long, long happy home

Yeah, I love my baby
Just like I love myself
Oh, just like I love myself
But if she don't have me
She won't have nobody else

This thread is irrelevant deflection from the topic.

I will not respond to any posts directed at me.

OK, I'll pick up Bill's slack and respond to any posts directed at him.

My answers in advance are:
1) Yes.
2) Many times.
3) Because it felt good in my mouth.
4) Yes, I'm very sensitive down there.
5) Sometimes it hurts when I pee afterwards.
