Brian Wilson, the influential pop musician who co-founded the the Beach Boys and wrote such hit songs as "Good Vibrations," "I Get Around," and "God Only Knows," has died at 82. His family announced the news Wednesday on social media and said in a statement, "We are at a loss for words right now. Please respect our privacy at this time as our family is grieving. We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world." The family did not disclose how or when Wilson died
In 1963, Brian Wilson thought this was the 'perfect' song and he played it over hundred times in a row on his turntable after he bought the single. The drummer made a mistake with the song, but the resulting syncopation worked liked a charm, so the producer kept it. One of my friends is a Soviet-trained pianist with perfect pitch who effortlessly plays Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu. I used to ask her to help me with arrangements years ago. One evening I asked "D" for her expert opinion on this song and "Voila!" She, like Brian Wilson, thoroughly enjoyed it as well. This is in the key of E major: www.youtube.com
