U.S. Rep. Barry Moore's (R-Enterprise) latest piece of legislation allowing for the deportation of any illegal alien who has been convicted or admitted to the offense of driving while drunk passed the U.S. House of Representatives Thursday. "Today's vote in the House sends a clear message," Moore said. "If you are a guest in this country and you break our laws and put American lives at risk by driving under the influence, there will be consequences." Moore's bill, H.R. 875, The Jeremy and Angel Seay and Sergeant Brandon Mendoza Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act of 2025, passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 209-160.
"Today, we consider a simple common-sense bill that says if you're a guest in our country and you drive drunk, you should in fact be deported," he said. "Now, to the average American, passing this bill is a no-brainer. Even in a polarized time, Democrats should be able to join Republicans and unanimously support such reasonable legislation. After all, deporting dangerous criminals is a rational, normal, and coherent step that this House should take."
