This incident shows a total ignorance of Pres Trump regarding the country of the person he is talking with at the White House.

Oh wait, he seems to choose his aides based upon for their obsequious adulation, and not their competency.

And his major egg-on-the-face-of-America looks to be a result of that.

Well, at a minimum, Pres Boakai did not seem to prevaricate whenever his lips were moving.

I wish I could say something similar for Pres Trump.

A basic question in my view ...

Why did not Pres Trump know, or have been informed by his senior aides, that English was the official language of Liberia before that meeting even took place?

There are people in the State Dept who could have informed him of this, to prevent this embarrassment.
