Trump Is Vetting Top General Nominees -- Loyalty Test?

President Donald Trump is now meeting with four-star general nominees personally, a notable departure from past practices that raises ethical concerns about the further mingling of political roles within the military's highest ranks.

... A White House spokesperson confirmed Trump's meetings with candidates to be promoted with a fourth star, saying the meetings are meant to vet the officers' qualifications -- a claim that some experts are skeptical of and the president's allies praise as a much needed change.

"President Trump wants to ensure our military is the greatest and most lethal fighting force in history, which is why he meets with four-star general nominees directly to ensure they are warfighters first -- not bureaucrats," Anna Kelly, a White House spokesperson, told Military.com in an emailed statement. ...

When 2028 comes around and Trump refuses to have federal elections, he will need to be in full control of the military.

Loyalty to the President is more important than loyalty to the Nation and the People.

That's the lesson of Trumpism so far; authoritarian control over democracy.

And Trumpers love having someone to tell them what to think and say.

@#4 ... Loyalty to the President is more important than loyalty to the Nation and the People. ...

That is how it seems with all the appointees of Pres Trump.

And now Pres Trump seems to be extending that to the military.

According to El Naranjo Loco, they're "my" generals.
This country will pay a heavy price for this nonsense.

Why the question mark? OF course the Trump regime is about vetting all for loyalty, not to the Constitution, not to the rule of law, but instead, to the true policy of America today and that is to let the family of grifters steal everything that isn't nailed down.

It may seem wrong but other Presidenfrom Putin on a regular basis.ts meet personally with officers seeking the highest ranks. Presidents like Vladimir Putin demand absolute loyalty and now Trump does too! Very dangerous precedent for a democracy.

Oh yeah, he remembers John Kelly and Jim Mattis, his former generals who stopped his first term idiocies...at least some of them. And then those two generals of "his' told the world he was truly fascist to his core.
