Steven Colbert Wins Emmy for Best Talk Series

The crowd erupted into thunderous applause and chants of "Stephen, Stephen!" when Colbert takes the stage. "I want to thank CBS for giving us the privilege of being part of the late night tradition which I hope continues long after we're no longer doing this show," he says.

Good for him. An award like this will likely boost his resume as he moves to the next stage of his career.

I don't think they care. They were losing $40 million per year on his show. They will likely find a replacement at a fraction of the operating cost who may not draw quite the same audience size (who knows, maybe even improve ratings) and have a profitable show.

In his final season Colbert should invite every member of the Administration onto his show, to see who mans up, shows up and opens up. I'll place the over/under at zero ...

Colbert is right, one has to wonder if CBS will just take the safe, chicken path and not put another comedian on at night to replace Colbert. I personally really, really agree with those who are saying that one of the things we are seeing is the melding of cutthroat capitalism with far right worship of the super rich...and hidden away is the taking from the poor that is decimating us at the bottom of the economic pyramid.

Why bother? If they show up they just use it as a stage to spread lies and will talk over him.

They are not they would have cut the show long ago if that was the case.
