Ironically, a high corporate income tax would be an effective means to stimulate capital investment in America, which is maybe the only thing Republicans want that isn't bad for America.

But they're simply too greedy not to kill the golden goose.

Raising corporate tax rates would be hugely more effective than imposing tariffs at stimulating domestic investment. Not that I'm so delusional as to believe the tariffs are actually expected or intended to result in significant investment in America, of course.

I don't mind being called old, but I'm 54 and I grew up with those things.

Was Happy Days not in reruns when you see a kid? Maybe it's more because you're a Millennial rather than anything else that you seem so unaware.

I'm guessing it's the cultural stuff, because we had industrial superiority and global financial support for the past 80 years, until about Q3 of this year, when it started to shift.
