GOP Silent After Church Gunman Identified as 'Ultra MAGA'

As the nation reels from another devastating mass shooting -- this time at a Mormon church in suburban Michigan -- Republican leaders have remained notably silent following revelations that the gunman was a devoted Trump supporter who once proudly wore the label "Ultra MAGA." But as photos and social media posts surfaced showing [Thomas Jacob] Sanford in a camouflage Trump 2020 shirt that read "Make Liberals Cry Again," and a Trump-Pence sign still visible on his front lawn just months ago, the political implications became harder to ignore. So far, Republican leaders have said nothing.

... So far, Republican leaders have said nothing. ...

Not really a surprise.

The whole Charlie Kirk Outrage was performative.

They don't give a ---- about Gun Deaths.

If this guy was liberal or trans they would be braying at the moon for Vengeance talking about how Democrats love violence and murder.

Trump would be on national TV declaring a state of emergency to save us all.

When it's a Mega MAGA?

Crickets and Mumbles.

Trump is Human ----, an Opportunist who cares nothing for anyone he can't somehow Make Use of one way or another.

His "Followers" are Trash to a person apparently.

Scum.

It has been predicted for almost ten years that the Mormons are on MAGA's hit list.

This murderer is just a little before his time.

There appears to be just about zero information coming out from the investigation concerning motive. For purposes of this post, let's assume the person who did this was what normals might loosely describe as "nuts." Okay, but why target a gathering of Mormons? If the terrorist considered themself hardline Christian that could be the problem. There are plenty of fundies (probably others as well) occupying various points along the spectrum of professed Christian belief who do not consider Mormons to be Christians. (Catholics often find themselves in this group as well.). To the point of hostility. But "Antifa"? Yeah, right, please go ahead and grab the other one ... it has a bell.

#8: Hi Doc Sarvis: I'm sensing this shooting of the Mormons and the Charlie Kirk assassination are "right on right" violence. The many rightwing factions in Weimar Germany took years to finally consolidate under the NSDAP. In the meantime, the German rightwing fought off the Communists until 1933. Similarly the Stalinists and the Trotskyites in the Spanish Civil War were at loggerheads while fending off the Falangists. Charlie Kirk, like House Republican Marjorie Taylor-Greene, was becoming publicly skeptical of Israel, which may have led to his demise by someone to the right of him (if that's possible): www.newsweek.com

Regarding the Mormon massacre, there are Christian purists today who consider the LDS heretical. The LDS may use Christian terms, but the origins of their universe is a far cry from the Old and New Testaments. Last century I heard of a Baptist father abducting his own daughter when he heard she was in love with a Mormon and was going marry him.

Your observation re the Stalinists and Trotskyites bring to mind Orwell's experience in the Spanish Civil War ... he had to get out of the way of those two factions killing each other off, forget Franco and the fascists.

The LDS outfit, its setup and theology can seem downright odd to nonbelievers. But the same could be said for,all organized religions and their permutations.

Nah, it's a more odd offshoot of Christianity than the snake handlers.

Trump could be Mormon; he already has the diapers.

Jason Allen, a Burton resident, told CNN that even locals who didn't personally know Sanford recognized his truck.

With flags flying from the back as Sanford drove it through town, "you couldn't miss the truck," Allen said. Sometimes, he said, Sanford would "switch one of his flags out for a F*** Biden' flag."

No wonder the MAGA filth are so quiet about this slaughter.
