Unemployment is surging for Black workers -- and federal government layoffs will only make it worse. Important story from @lydiadepillis.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/2025/10/12/b ... #EconSky

Joblessness for Black workers is rising again, two years after reaching a record low. It's a troubling indicator: Joblessness often spikes higher for historically marginalized groups during economic downturns, and takes longer to fall. This time, the Trump administration's assault on diversity programs and cuts to the federal workforce could make it even more difficult for Black workers to recover when conditions improve.

Mission accomplished.

Why aren't the DR's MAGAts celebrating their child-raping hero's awesome accomplishment?

Two groups "over-represented" in the government are blacks and women.

No surprise black women will be the group most affected.

That's not a bug, that's a feature.

Well, when the Fed workforce is 4x over-represented by black women due to DEI hiring practices, they were bound to be hurt bad when the useless government functions were finally shut down. However, they should have no trouble finding new jobs as I am repeatedly told they, black women, are the most education group in America.

"Conditions started to deteriorate in 2024 after pandemic-era subsidies expired. Black households were the only racial group last year in which median income fell and the poverty rate rose, according to the U.S. Census Bureau."

For those of you who think presidents have buttons and levers in the oval office that control what happens to jobs, wages, etc.

The truth is that unemployment is on the climb in the Trump economy for all demographics but black Americans are disproportionately effect, as they have been historically when unemployment climbs, because of systemic racism that exists in the US. Saying so doesn't sit well with MAGA because they like to pretend racism doesn't exist despite what they say to each other in their group chats.

African American voters are learning what the hell they have to lose, and are losing right now. They are in a country where many of the elected leaders don't care about them at all. If the SCOTUS rules against racial gerrymandering many minority politicians will lose their jobs too, and electing such people will become a memory.

There is one exception: Barack Obama. If Der Dotard can convince the courts that he can run for president in 2028, that means that Obama can run again, in which case he will easily defeat Trump, if he survives the assassination attempts ...
