Jury selection started on Monday for Sean C. Dunn, who was charged with misdemeanor assault after hitting a federal agent with a "sub-style sandwich."

I hope the p*&&^ he threw it at is forced to testify without a mask and explain why getting hit with a sandwich was such a huge boo boo he had to respond to it instead of laughing.

Lairmore testifies that other agents gave him a plush sandwich toy, which he placed on the shelf in his office, and a patch that said "Felony Footlong," which he put on his lunch box.

Lairmore has chuckled with the rest of us at times. Defense really trying to underscore the unseriousness of it all

And this is a misdemeanor trial. What a colossal waste of time and money. The judge is Trumpf appointed, so he will let this farce proceed. Had this "grand offense" occurred in NYC, a state or federal judge would have dismissed the charge and berated the AUSA or ADA for wasting the Court's time.

Were this not the case, how many college students, demonstrators, protestors, volunteers, activists, or Samaritans would be in jail or prison today?

Funny how the police have no evidence of the damage and the video footage shows that the sandwich remained wrapped through the assault with a breadly weapon.

There is nothing too small for them to lie about.

If a police officer did this they would enjoy qualified immunity, since there's no law against throwing a sandwich at point-blank range.

While do not condone any manner of projectiles being thrown at law enforcement agents, I do have to say, wow.

I mean really. How can a sandwich "explode?"

Maybe, at best. it splattered.

"Exploded" implies some manner of force generated within the object that causes it to expand rapidly.

How does a sandwich generate that level of internal force?

At common law, assault is basically offensive touching. I don't know about the legal basis for these charges but the optics are comical. Prosecutorialy questionable. Typical Buffoon.
