A group of people so untethered from reality it no longer was worth the time or effort to engage in good faith.

I'm still that same person to those I deem worth the energy.

Problem is far too many like you have shown you're not worth the energy.

If you allow the actions of those with which you disagree to drive your emotional state you are ceding your reason and accountability.

Engaging people acting in bad faith with little to no effort or good faith consideration on my part isn't allowing them to drive an emotional response. It's simply me putting in minimal effort.

I also own that and don't cede accountability one bit.

One could argue I should simply ignore them, but that's not really a reasonable response either given their prevalence and centrality in current events.

Believe me, the way things are going, I wish I had the money to buy a large tract of land in Montana somewhere, build a house in the middle of it as far as possible from anyone or anything and just live my life. But alas, I'm just lowly prole with nowhere near the resources to just disappear.

That's more or less what I'd prefer.

#37 Rural Life may be Overrated.
The Suicide rates are about triple those of cities.

I've lived rural life. I grew up in a small town of about 2,000 people in upstate NY. People have moved in around my parent's house now and ruined it with flood lights and clear-cutting wooded land to build McMansion s*&^, but when I lived there it was pitch black at night. Could see the Milky Way during the summer. Maybe two cars a day would drive past.

I've since lived in everything from a small city that is that state's capital to the third largest city in the country.

My return to rural living would be entirely voluntary and a stereotypical story of someone who left, experienced more than their small slice of America and decided to go back.
