The 2026 midterm elections will take place exactly 11 months from now on Tuesday 3 November and the Democratic Party report card Way to Win discusses why they lost in 2024.
OPINION: There can be absolutely no doubt that the 2026 midterm elections will be the most chaotic, confusing, and potentially destabilizing elections the United States has ever experienced.

"On Tuesday 3 November 2026, all 435 seats in the US House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 seats in the US Senate will be contested to determine the 120th United States Congress. 39 state and territorial US gubernatorial elections, as well as numerous state and local elections, will also be contested."
1) Chronic and Acute Economic Frustrations
2) Cumulative Right-Wing Media Advantage
3) Movement Alignment
Movement alignment: "Recent cycles have shown that Democrats are more likely to win when campaigns are aligned with movement forces and energy. Exhibit A is Joe Biden administration's handling of Israel's war in Gaza. Both movement activists and many ordinary voters were horrified by the Biden White House's shockingly ineffective and callous approach to Gaza, combined with the equally shocking unwillingness of the party apparatus to even engage with reasonable critics.
That ultimately dampened the enthusiasm and support of some of the Democratic Party's most engaged and reliable supporters."
Further granularity from www.commondreams.org:
"A recent poll found that among the 19 million people who voted for Joe Biden in 2020 but did not vote in the 2024 election, nearly a third " -- about 29% -- "cited the US government's support for Israel's war on Gaza as the top reason for staying home.
This means roughly 5.7 million Democratic voters did not cast a ballot in 2024 because of the administration's stance on Gaza, which many described as a genocide.
This issue was the most frequently cited reason, even above concerns about the economy or immigration."
Between the winning 2020 and losing 2024 elections, Democrats lost 6,265,888 votes. The Democratic Party of 1968 lost felt the same sting because of their support of the brutal Saigon regime and the Vietnam War. Between 1964 and 1968 the Democratic Party lost about 12 million voters with the Vietnam War being a major factor in this decline.

The malevolent Trumpf junta continues going after information held in state databanks to populate the vast electronic gulag of DHS.
This is being done to disenfranchise voters with similar, long, Arabic, or Latino names.
Worse, this will lead to "one stop shopping" for police officers conducting "Terry stops" or investigators who won't be burdened with seeking warrants on suspects or "enemies of the State."
"Oh, you posted something pro-Palestinian last year."
"You're name here says Gonnzales, but there it says Gonzalez. Your vote will be counted provisionally. Next!"
"Oh, I see you owe the IRS taxes."
"Sir, your name matches someone on the TSA No-Fly List. Would you please step out of the car slowly."
"Ma'am, according to my information you participated in an antifa protest on 8 March 2025. Antifa is a designated terrorist group. Let me see your hands."
