Judges and prosecutors are facing repeated threats of violence as they handle cases related to Trump, interviews and documents reveal. The wave of intimidation follows the ex-president's attacks on judges as corrupt and biased -- and some worry it threatens America's long tradition of judicial independence.

After he issued a prison sentence to a 69-year-old Idaho woman who pleaded guilty to joining the Jan. 6, 2021, riot, his chambers' voicemail filled with death threats. One man found Lamberth's home phone number and called repeatedly with graphic vows to murder him.

"I could not believe how many death threats I got," Lamberth told Reuters, revealing the calls to his home for the first time. ...

With the technology available today we should be able to track a lot of these people and file charges against them for intimidation of a government official. To be able to make threats, especially death threats against people, without consequences is ridiculous.
