SCOTUS is dragging its feet so that none of Combover Quisling's federal cases go to trial before the election. SCOTUS can quickly rule in a week or two when it comes to handing the Presidency to a Rethug who didn't actually win his brother's state despite all kinds of effery by his brother and his administration, so by dragging their feet here, SCOTUS immunizes Dotard until after the election while in effect not granting immunity to President Biden. They dragged their feet on the illegal Alabama maps to assist the GQP in holding a House seat. They didn't have to decide; they delayed until the lower court ruled that with primaries approaching, it was too late to change from the illegal maps for 2024. If Dems can somehow hold the Senate and retake the House, as one of their first projects, they need to make court expansion, judicial term limits, and a hard and fast SCOTUS code of conduct with penalties for justices who fail to report gifts and who fail to recuse if they've taken gifts from somebody involved IN ANY WAY in one of their cases.

Since the U.S. Supreme Court is exercising its muscle to thwart justice, I see no reason why the U.S. Senate shouldn't exercise a little muscle of their own and start to hold hearings on the basis of potential "bad behavior" as provided in the Constitution.

The hearings might even bring up the subject of term limits and involuntary recusals.

If nothing else, hearings could throw some light on how the conservative justices on the U.S. Supreme Court are playing political games with the justice system to the detriment of America.

Both posts are exactly what needs to happen, first thing, if the Dems sweep Congress. And establishing a minimum IQ for members of Congress to take their elected seat. Constituents can't keep voting in people that are dumber than they are.

I don't know what the U.S. Supreme Court hopes to gain by helping Trump. Their reputation is already shot to hell. Are they hoping he'll keep them around if he gets elected? Don't they know that Dictators don't need a Supreme Court to agree with him? Don't they know that the first time they dare disagree with the Dictator they'll end up falling out a window.

The justices aren't deaf, dumb and blind. They know exactly who they're dealing with ~ or better yet, WHAT they're dealing with.

So, why is the question?

The SC thinks they are helping a republican gain the presidency so that Alito and Thomas can retire and assure a continuing conservative supermajority. It is THAT simple.

They fail to realize that the instance the SC crosses -------, ------- will ignore the SC ruling.

TRUTHY

I don't see a Supreme Court even existing very long if Trump is elected. Or the Constitution either. Or any General who disagrees with him or a Congress with any authority over him.

Trump, who is particularly sensitive to criticism, (or taking advice) and who believes that he's never wrong about anything, would never tolerate anybody who dared disagree with him. He has a tendency to fly into rages when that happens.

Actually, since Trump admires Putin so much, I think our new constitution will be a carbon copy of the one that keeps Mr. Putin in office. Especially around re-election time.

Fear and intimidation are right up Trump's ally. He thrives on that sense of power.

Remember the book "Too much and Never Enough. That's Trump to a tee.

"the squad and Hakeem Jeffries."

I bet they score higher than you!

While I agree with posts 1 and 2, they're nothing but pipe dreams.

Democrats have proven time and again they're not going to do anything while in power.
