Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, May 16, 2024

In a new interview, [Robert F. Kennedy Jr.] running mate, Nicole Shanahan, seemed to acknowledge that those lofty ambitions may be a pipe dream, and that the duo is focused on simply trying to influence the major parties' agendas.

Shanahan separately made news on Thursday when it was revealed that she had poured another $8 million into Kennedy's campaign coffers, adding to the $2 million she previously gave in March, and other funds she has routed to his Super PAC.

People are going to say "Bobby only picked me for my money," she quipped at a fundraiser in Tennessee. Kennedy has denied that he would "choose a vice presidential candidate based on how much money that they have." Still, his selection of Shanahan has allowed her to give unlimited funds directly to the campaign"power she would not have were she not on the ticket.

At his point in the 2024 campaign, I am more interested in trends than the result of any one poll. The chart in the article shows the trends nicely.

I thi both parties are seriously underestimating Kennedys ability to dictate the election results.

@#3 ... both parties are seriously underestimating Kennedys ability to dictate the election results. ...

One thing to keep in mind with the polls this far out from Election Day is...

Many people responding to the polls at this point may be registering more of a ~protest vote to send a message~ than an indication of how they may actually vote on Election Day.

Having said that....

I've no doubt (brings to mind something) tht Mr RFK, Jr is a concern to both major parties at this point.

Speaking of "no doubt" ...

No Doubt - Don't Speak (1996)
www.youtube.com

Lyrics excerpt...

genius.com

...
You and me
We used to be together
Every day together, always
I really feel
That I'm losing my best friend
I can't believe this could be the end

[Pre-Chorus]
It looks as though
You're letting go
And if it's real, well, I don't want to know

[Chorus]
Don't speak
I know just what you're sayin'
So please stop explainin'
Don't tell me 'cause it hurts
Don't speak
I know what you're thinkin'
I don't need your reasons
Don't tell me 'cause it hurts

[Verse 2]
Our memories
They can be inviting
But some are altogether mighty frightening

[Pre-Chorus]
As we die
Both you and I
With my head in my hands I sit and cry
...

A song about the singer of a band breaking up with another member of that band.

This nation is INSANE if it re-elects Trump,
a known criminal, minute by minute liar, and
serial destroyer of worlds, hopes, people and
things.

And I will be leaving it for good as soon as I
am able, if he does win. Don't want to live
in a country that respects or holds dear the
above listed deplorable values...

I doubt the actual parties are. Regular people probably are.

He will peel off some Trump voters who are paying attention due to his antivax crusade.

He will peel off some Biden voters who aren't paying attention because his name and family history have a strong liberal connotation. You may scoff at this latter point, but in a state like Wisconsin where losing 500 votes could mean losing the election, i think it's a real risk.

Oh I'm not scoffing at all. I remember Perot

Sorry, by that point in my post i had switched to the proverbial "you," wasn't referring to you specifically anymore. Should have said "some may ... "

Perot got 20% of the popular vote and zero in the electoral college.

third parties are stupid.
