"At least 19 tornadoes touch down in Florida ahead of Hurricane Milton landfall
There are confirmed fatalities associated with the tornadoes, officials say. St. Lucie County officials confirmed that there are "multiple fatalities" following tornadoes in the area.
The fatalities are in the Spanish Lakes Community, they said."

And that's on the southeastern side of the state... beautiful place along the coast.

lived in Florida all your life the fact that it made landfall as a Vat 3 was good news! It was a Cat 5 just a few hours earlier which would have increased the devastation tremendously. Cat 3 will do considerale damage and there will e loss of lives but far fewer than a Cat 5, thankfully.Floridahas just endured the worst two weeks I've ever seen but this state is very resilient and will be largely operating normally again by Monday.

And next year, or next month, when a Cat 5 hits and destroys all wood framed housing in its path, how on earth are Floridians going to get insurance? Global warming isn't going away any time soon, since Floridians keep on electing governors who hate like they do, but who love fossil fuels and their stock market profits. Floridians are causing their own chaos and destruction, truth be told, they could at least try to demand change from the Republican Party that dominates Florida.

"how on earth are Floridians going to get insurance?"
That question is being asked everywhere right now.
I have no idea.

Same people, same legislature and same hurricanes.
But it's all about the letter after the Governors name? Good luck....
