"Russian President Vladimir Putin is keen to reshape global power dynamics. He sought to build a counterbalance to Western influence with a summit of BRICS countries, including the leaders of China and India, in Russia last week.

He has sought direct help for the war from Iran, which has supplied drones, and North Korea, which has shipped large amounts of ammunition, according to Western governments."

Vlad saw Russia' place in the world order slip from #2 to #3 with China's rise... and the Ukraine is a way of him having a hissy fit about it. Of course, it also blends with his long sought goals of reunifying the old SU states.

If Trump wins, then Ukraine will the first of several states to fall, because Trump will appease Vlad, who will call off Iran's paid mercenaries against Israel, which Vlad can't afford anymore anyway.

And Trump can expand his Abraham Accords to become Peace in the Middle East with attack dogs called off.

Then, if he's the bible's Man of Sin, he will himself break the agreement and attack... Israel.

Go figure.

US talks to China about N.Korea's dispatching of troops to Russia
www3.nhk.or.jp

... The US government has unveiled that it has talked to China about North Korea's dispatch of soldiers to Russia, which is continuing its invasion of Ukraine.

It apparently urged China, which has been a patron of the North, to exert its influence in a bid to avoid the situation destabilizing further.

US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller told reporters on Monday that they have communicated with Chinese officials about the matter and told them that the United States is concerned about it.

Miller said the US side has been making clear to China that the country has an "influential voice in the region." He said US officials have also told Beijing that they ought to be concerned about this destabilizing action by two of its neighbors, Russia and North Korea.

Also on Monday, Deputy Press Secretary of the US Defense Department, Sabrina Singh, said in a briefing that Pyongyang is believed to have sent around 10,000 soldiers to train in eastern Russia. She added that the troops will "probably augment Russian forces near Ukraine over the next several weeks."

She did not give details about where the North Korean troops are believed to be deployed, but said "a portion of those soldiers have already moved closer to Ukraine." ...

If it is ok to use North Korean troops in the part of Russia that was invaded by Ukrainian troops, then it is perfectly ok to use military from the West the part of Ukraine that is being invaded by Russia...like all of it.
Putin's Russia should be temporality tossed off the Security Council until it stops its murderous invasion of a friendly neighbor.
We need a new UN with real laws against wars of aggression, and yes, that would mean US Presidents would be at risk of being jailed.

The headline says "sent" which to me means "Yes, we would like these people or their bodies returned". The lead above says "Gives" which may be closer to the truth, and means "You will be turned into sausage and never be seen again. Your family may be compensated. Or not."...
