Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, November 19, 2024

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Monday announced Sean Duffy as his nominee to lead the Department of Transportation"the second Fox News host he has named as a presumptive Cabinet secretary, after picking Pete Hegseth as the future Pentagon chief. Like the ex-president, Duffy is a former reality television star who shifted into politics. He was initially known for MTV's "The Real World: Boston" and "Road Rules: All Stars," then spent eight years as district attorney of Ashland County, Wisconsin. Trump is using Fox as a staffing agency. Duffy is the sixth announced administration pick that works or worked at the network," Media Matters for America senior fellow Matthew Gertz said Monday. "Duffy's transportation experience"outside of 'Road Rules'"includes blaming Boeing's ills on DEI."

He was the district attorney for a county with a population of 16,000. So his competition for district attorney was about 2 other attorneys.

Pres-elect Trump seems to have a short list of criteria for his nominees.

Ability to rise to the rigors of the position does not seem to be on that short list.

So, what is?

My opinion...

1) unfettered loyalty to Pres-elect Trump.

2) unfettered loyalty to Pres-elect Trump.

3) a willingness to destroy the entity the nominee will be charged with running.

4) reduce taxes for the wealthy.

5,6,7, ...) so low on the rating scale that they are not worth mentioning.

Dotard don't do experts. He knows more than all of them anyway. But he will listen to hucksters and beraters.

The question is, what will people who hope to have a future beyond Trump do with this time? I'm thinking of a shill like Dr. Oz. Has he ever run anything? Might he get overwhelmed by what's left of a conscience? Will he "get 'presidential' once he realizes the severity of the office"?

Some of the rest of them, I don't have any hope for, not that I know much about Dr. Oz either. But a lot will change between now and Jan. 20. It is a reality show, after all. Bigliest one yet.

Nothing is set in stone at any time, except for Trump's Trumpiness.
