A major storm swept across the northwest U.S., battering the region with strong winds and rain, causing widespread power outages and downing trees that killed at least two people.

We had surprise hail storms the other day. Very hard and fast, mainly along the freeway corridor.

I was concentrating on my project and totally missed all three waves.

Everything is rooting except for a sleepy rhizome that normally exists in a volcanic ephemeral pool.

The "leaves" are bizarre, just four per frond, hard and shaped like the shell of a beetle.

This weather appears to be triggering it's hibernation, even in a controlled environment.

Just south of the storm, Internet went out. So went out to the airport, great crosswind practice, very enjoyable afternoon.
