Matt Eberflus is out as Chicago Bears head coach after a colossal blunder late in the game's loss to the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day. The Bears were nearing field goal range for a tying kick but after quarterback Caleb Williams was sacked with 32 seconds left, they only ran one more play -- a long incompletion to Rome Odunze as time expired. Eberflus takes with him a 14-32 record, six-game losing streak and the timeout he kept in his pocket yesterday.

The bankruptcy-prone orange pedo blundered the USFL right out of existence.

I was at physical therapy today (for my shoulder replacement surgery) and we were talking about the game and how the Chicago coach wasted the last minute trying for a win when they could have easily tied the game with a field goal and forced it into OT. The therapist said that the coach wasn't long for his job. When I walked out and my son picked me up, I checked my phone and I saw the headline that the Bears owners had just fired the head coach. The therapist nailed that one.

Yea, Detroit has got to work on their game for next week. Green Bay is only two-games behind them and is coming off a three-game winning streak. At least they're playing at home and it will be televised as it's the Thursday night game of the week.

What's next after Bears fire head coach Matt Eberflus
www.espn.com

... Time ran out Thursday night, not only on another avoidable Bears defeat, but also on Matt Eberflus' coaching tenure in Chicago.

Eberflus was fired Friday, hours after Eberflus held a news conference on Zoom and said he was confident he would be coaching the Bears against the San Francisco 49ers on Dec. 8.

The final straw was a 23-20 loss to the Detroit Lions punctuated by Eberflus not calling timeout with 32 seconds remaining and the Bears facing a third-and-26 at the Lions' 41.

After being sacked, rookie quarterback Caleb Williams tried to rush his teammates to the line of scrimmage.

But the slow-developing play, a long pass attempt to Rome Odunze, allowed time to run out before Cairo Santos had a shot to tie it with a 58-yard field goal attempt.

I will say that there seems to be something majorly wrong with the management of that team.

Something is wrong.

Pitty us poor Bears fans. Note: He was so bad...it's the first time Bears have fired a head coach in season. Usually, ownership gets their money's worth out of a head coach hire and wait until the end of the season.

Second note: the guy who is now the Head Coach was the QB coach, until they fired the OC and made him OC two weeks ago. Now that's rapidly rising in the organization.

Reverse, my right shoulder and I'm right-dominate. Surgery was October 24th. I just finished my third week of physical therapy with at least three more weeks to go. We're getting into the more-painful phase of the treatment.

If this works out OK, I might get the left shoulder done sometime after the first of the year, maybe by spring time. Osteoarthritis can be a drag. So far it's really only affected my shoulders.

Are you kidding? Same date as mine. But I had the "normal" replacement because my rotator cuff was in excellent shape.
I am right there with you man. As my dear aunt used to say, "Getting old sucks".
But as I say, it beats the alternative.
Wait for that other shoulder until you're 100% on the right one, and good luck with your PT!

My wife had a reverse done on her left shoulder after she fell down and broke it at the beginning of the year. She's through with therapy. But that shoulder and arm are always going to be a problem for her.

Yea, my rotator cuff was destroyed.

16-years ago I severed the supraspinatus tendon, which is one of the major tendons in the rotator cuff, and they had to replace a section of it with a cadaver tendon. The surgery was a complete success and I had no problems with it until this past summer when we were on vacation and I grabbed a suitcase at the wrong angle and tore it again. The doctor said that it wasn't worth the effort trying to fix the rotator cuff again what with the arthritic shoulder, so they opted for the full 'reverse' replacement:

For those who are not familiar with the difference between a 'reverse' and a normal replacement, they switch where they 'install' the parts of the ball & socket joint, hence the term 'reverse'.
