Last week, an Amarillo, Texas-based U.S. District judge ruled that three states can proceed with a lawsuit that would limit the availability of the abortion pill mifepristone.
With mifepristone unavailable at the pharmacy, she took only misoprostol on her doctor's advice, but it didn't fully treat her miscarriage.
Weeks later, she was hospitalized with sepsis.
"This is not how we should be practicing medicine for miscarriage in this century."
