By law, only Congress can fully close federal agencies. But the department is already facing another 'very significant' workforce reduction, according to an email to staff sent last week.

2/ "No, Trump cannot dismantle the department by EO ... It can only be closed or its functions transferred by an act of Congress ... Congress has mandated that many programs specifically be administered by the Education Department. These programs can only be moved or abolished by an act of Congress."

"The order would direct Linda McMahon, the newly installed education secretary, to dismantle the agency she oversees. Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, said in a statement on X that Trump won't sign an order Thursday, as some media outlets have reported, but she did not rule out action coming later."

Wanna know why? Because educated voters are Dem voters, and the undereducated vote Republican... and education is the single best predictor of how people vote... moreso than race or gender.

He can't. It's a creation of Congress. He'd need Congress to pass a bill in order to dismantle it.

Why don't let your hero know, Jeff?

He will try. The agency will go dark for months while the case goes through the courts.

Then the agency will do nothing and schools will have no funds for Special Ed.

Trump still wins.

Hope your none of your kids has an IEP. No more funding and they are suing to do away with those too.

Trumpy appointed just Linda McMahon, the newly installed education secretary, with direct orders to dismantle the agency she oversees.

Trumpy really can't make his intentions any clearer than that.
