President Donald Trump said Thursday that he will put import taxes of 100% on pharmaceutical drugs, 50% on kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities, 30% on upholstered furniture and 25% on heavy trucks starting on Oct. 1. ... [T]he additional tariffs risk intensifying inflation that is already elevated, as well as slowing economic growth, as employers getting acclimated to Trump's previous import taxes grapple with new levels of uncertainty.

The pharmaceutical companies had already hiked prices last year, and now Dummkopf Trumpf is putting a tariff on foreign drug imports? Americans are already struggling to make ends meet and borrowing money from corporate shylocks just to buy groceries. Hamburger Helper sales are going up. The Trumpf junta is simply pauperizing, immiserating, and punishing the poor,

Just wait until the effects of the 'BBB' go into effect next year. Wow: i.huffpost.com

#3: Hi Ocuser. Wow. Good luck with your treatments. I hope the 'BBB,' the AI algorithms, and these tariffs don't somehow impact your Medicare plan.

One of my friends, a Vietnam-era Cold Warrior, told me he was so grateful to receive a VA disability check for $175 per month. That night our dinner for four at a diner cost over $200 (my wife and I splurged).

The Trumpf junta does not care that 1 in 6 Americans live in poverty and they are making things worse for us.

That's fine, because he's promised to reduce pharmaceutical prices 1000%

I'm sure this will do it.

Fact check: Trump's mathematically impossible promise to cut drug prices by 1,000%'

Pres Trump looks to be backing away from his tariff threats, carving out wide exemptions.

... The European Union and Japan are exempt from Trump's latest tariff threat because both negotiated trade deals that capped pharmaceutical duties at 15%, Reuters previously reported. ...

Even if ELi Lily start building a plant TODAY (newsflash: they can't and won't be able to for several years), it would be another four years before the plant is finished and cranking out product, IF they can find enough workers. Then the prices of those drugs will be much higher than they are now, due to labor costs in US plus associated benefits.
