Charlie Kirk would have been a more self-righteous Nicolas Maduro had he had the chance.

Many criticisms of Kirk were based on direct quotes of the man himself! I remember, during the days following his murder, being surprised at some of the things he said and then the defenses of him which described him so differently from the image I formed of him from reading the things he said. Quite honestly, I think he was a racist and bigoted in several ways and it made me glad I had never subjected myself to one of his performances. I think that to the Chaelie Kirk grou[ies freedom of speech is not a right we would have if today's White Christian Nationalists were writing our Constitution nor is it a right that the despicable Roberts Court will uphold and that makes this time of our history shameful!

Most of the "direct quotes" were plucked from pretty cordial debates and the quotes used to claim he was saying something quite different than when in the context of the debate. That's not to say I agree with all his takes, but I do think the quotes were used to paint a much darker image of him than he actually was. I don't agree with a lot of his takes, comically though the damning quotes were usually points I had less of an issue with. Fun with quotes

"I don't agree with a lot of his takes"
That's not really the story here.
Do you agree with firing teachers for sharing their opinions about Charlie Kirk?

Conservatives have been railing against any iota of perceived censorship for decades. But when Kirk was killed, simply saying you didn't like him was treated as if you were burning down a church.
