Yikes. It sounds like her new son-in-law called them to get rid of her after his father passed away. Sad story all around.

It's the new way to get your way or stuff done for free.

For example: Hire a bunch of immigrants handing out at Home Depot. Have them paint your house repair your fence and clean your driveway. Just as they are getting done call ICE.

Voila! Free stuff!

As an added bonus you may even get to keep their tools.
