In his first 100 days, President Trump has declared more national emergencies -- more creatively and more aggressively -- than any president in modern American history. Why it matters: Powers originally crafted to give the president flexibility in rare moments of crisis now form the backbone of Trump's agenda, enabling him to steamroll Congress and govern by unilateral decree through his first three months in office.

... How it works: The president can declare a national emergency at any time, for almost any reason, without needing to prove a specific threat or get approval from Congress.

- - - The National Emergencies Act of 1976, which unlocks more than 120 special statutory powers, originally included a "legislative veto" that gave Congress the ability to terminate an emergency with a simple majority vote.

- - - But in 1983, the Supreme Court ruled that legislative vetoes are unconstitutional " effectively stripping Congress of its original check, and making it far harder to rein in a president's emergency declarations.

Republican in Congress could simply pass another National Emergencies Act, if they wanted to.

But they don't want to.

They want Trump to run the country like a Dictator.

They are willing to let him destroy 80 years of post-war gains, to get their wish for a Dictatorship.

How calm and peaceful other countries are, unled by madmen. Americans don't have to look far to see serenity in leadership like in Canada or Mexico. Does Canada PM Mark Carney or Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum have to rely on declaring "national emergencies" to execute their agendas? The "Imperial Presidency" in America went unchecked too far and too long and now it's too late. The Founding Fathers would have been appalled at the thought of an Authorization to Use Military Force (AUMF) which has been abused, the gross misuse of the Presidential pardon, or declaring "national emergencies" willy-nilly. imgv2-1-f.scribdassets.com
