Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, May 02, 2025

U.S. hiring remained sturdy in April as the economy added 177,000 jobs despite jitters over President Donald Trump's massive import tariffs and widening federal government layoffs. Ahead of the report, economists forecast 135,000 job gains, according to a Bloomberg survey. The unemployment rate held steady at 4.2%, the Labor Department said Friday. "The R' word that the labor market is demonstrating in this report is resilience, certainly not recession," said Olu Sonola, head of U.S. economic research for Fitch Ratings. Expand article logo Continue reading So far this year, monthly job gains are averaging 143,000, down from 168,000 in 2024 but a solid figure in light of heightened uncertainty over the Trump administration's economic policies and stock market turmoil.

Putin's noxious DNA receptacle has the worst jobs record of any POTUS since Hoover. How impressive.

1) Don't own a farm

2) Don't trust anything Trump's government tells me about the economy. No reason to. Predictable that we'd have a good jobs report this month because last month's was so bad. Donald Trump is a man who has said, many times, that he NEVER MAKES A MISTAKE.

3) If there is no "collapse", fine with me. I'm not into pain for pain's sake. But any HONEST man knows that the pain has already started;and any HONEST man knows that it's going to get worse.

4) Even if Donald Trump does deliver on his Golden Age, he's still fascist scum, and that's a wee bit hard to get over.

So, you are telling me 'the experts' were wrong again? We are starting to see a pattern here. No matter how much the Dems try to talk down the economy and spark panic due to their supply of cheap Chinese crap being cut off, the Trump economy just keeps on rolling. Promises made / promises kept.

Last month's job report crushed expectations - what the f are you talking about? You really need to lay off the CNN and MSNBC.

Donald Trump and Herbert Hoover are the only U.S. presidents on record who left office with fewer total jobs than when they entered office.

On what basis should I believe anything that Trump says about the economy?

He's a Liar with every motivation to lie.

Just like you.

It is not in your interest to come to terms with the fact that Trump simply makes ---- up. to gain even any transient advantage.

I think that beating him and you over the heads with one of your favorite concepts, "fake news", is fun.

Can you provide any reason why anyone would stop?

You can put me on meds the instant I' like Trump, tell you that I've never made a mistake.

You can also give me meds if I ever assert that vaccines are made out of "fetal debris".

I'll bite.

What do you think I've been wrong about?

Now, unlike your Orange god, I do admit to being wrong from time to time.

It will be nifty, flattering, to see how much attention you really pay to me.

It can't be repeated often enough....Donald Trump is a Liar.

And that Donald Trump is a Liar is something you and BLUE can't refute.

So when I call Trump a liar, even in advance of any concrete evidence, I am likely to be right.

And that is also something you can't refute.

Disbelieving Donald, and his government, is a priori the smart thing to do.

It would be a really interesting conversation in social psychology if we could examine why people like you choose to see a man like Trump, who lies to everyone all the time, as being an honest man?

"a collapse that didn't happen."

Hasn't happened yet.

Also I'm not betting on it. Or against it. I'm not invested in the S&P 500 at all any more. Too much uncertainty thanks to madamn in charge, there is not enough reward to justify the risk.

Yeah - your lack of investment is due to Trump and not the fact that you are an economic failure without 2 nickels to rub together.

And when the exact opposite happens (as it will), what will you have to whine about then? Will you just go back to whining how your last liberal sexual kink is not being encouraged in schools?
