HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr posted photographs of his grandchildren swimming and wading with him in sewage-tainted Rock Creek, Wash DC this past weekend. The creek is known for having a sewage overflow problem and posing a health hazard to any who enter it. The National Park Service, which manages the Rock Creek Park, strictly bars all use of the water there and the park's other waterways due to the "high levels of fecal bacteria" and infectious pathogens.' Brain worms became a topic of public fascination after the The New York Times reported that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was mistakenly diagnosed with a brain tumor after scans picked up abnormalities that turned out to be "caused by a worm that got into my brain and ate a portion of it and then died," RFK Jr reportedly testified in a 2012 deposition. The most likely culprit was Taenia solium, a pork tapeworm that is the most common brain worm.

I heard the DC radio report on this today. Apparently all but one of the waterways around DC are unfit for just about anything, and Rock Creek isn't the one that occasionally gets clearance.

When I heard this story, it reminded me of my occasionally sociopathic father, who once ate a piece of raw bacon just -- I don't know -- to prove he was an idiot, I guess.

RFK Jr was somehow confirmed to be America's HHS Secretary. How much more dysfunctional can America get? We have three and 3/4 years to go before we reach rock bottom. Along the way the body count will pile up from disease, gun violence, and unnecessary military operations.
